When to Expect the Next iPhone SE to Launch

The new rumored 6.1” SE4 will replace iPhone SE3, 13 & 14 with lightning ports while keeping iPhone 15 in next year lineup. If so, why would anyone buy the more expensive 15 with an older processor if they can buy the newer, cheaper SE4?

Instead they should make the next SE4 with 5.4-5.8” screen, so the 15 can keep its place in the lineup…

The Mini was the perfect form factor for the next SE. Budget buyers don't prioritize latest, greatest, biggest and best of every feature. It's small, but there is a market for smaller size phones. And the majority of design work and tooling was already in place.

I'm sure there are budget buyers who want a small phone, but budget buyers are probably just as likely to want bigger phones like the rest of the market. Why wouldn't they?

I wouldn't buy anything larger than the Mini for myself. So if the new SE is what it's rumored to be, Apple just lost our entire family.

I see this very often, but realistically what else are you going to get? There are no more small phones on the market.

Budget buyers or not, the problem we having that Apple not offering small phones with 5.4-5.8” screen any more, unlike 6”+ phones that you can buy in any price range.

That force people that want small phones continue using iPhone 13 Mini or other (older) small phones. But as long as these people dont care about the latest and the greatest, and iOS/apps are still useable for their needs, they’ll continue using these devices instead of moving to iPhone Bricks.

The best would be if they’ll offer 2 SE4 versions - one based on iP14 and second one based on iP13 Mini…

The primary point of iPhone SE to Apple is an affordable entry point to the ecosystem without cannibalizing their more profitable mainline models.

Given that, I would think it more likely that they’ll stick with less expensive LCD if they’re still interested in the SE line. An iPhone XR with updated internals and USB Type-C adapter?

I get that, and ideally there'd be a phone for everyone, but realistically people either don't want small phones, or they don't want them enough to prioritise size over other things like battery life.

It sucks when your preferences are niche, and I'm saying that as a former member of the small phone club, but what's the point in producing a phone for a minority most of which will buy another iPhone regardless?
