At the Apple Store in Marlton, NJ on Launch Day 6/29/2007:
I arrived at 530AM. I was then #11 in line. By 6PM there was 200 people in line. The manager came out at 5PM and told us "we have you all covered, no need to push or rush at 6. He would not say how many phones he had, just that we were all covered.
The Apple Store gave us all water every hour. They gave us bagels at 430PM.
There is an AT&T store in the same plaza, just around the corner. (200 yards away) There was approximately 40 people in that line.
What I will do for the iPhone3g THIS year:
Start scouting at 6AM.,
Have my cooler and beach chair.
Have my sister-n-laws's RAZR V3xx
Check the 2 AT&T and 2 Apple Stores within 10 miles of my house every 2 hours.
I'll still get my running around done, GYM, buy Dog food, deliver dog treats, eat, etc.
Jump in line if I feel the need arises.
