Att Silver 64GB
Apple store app
Confirmation email 2:06am (central)
Store app became live for me about 2:05am

App Store came up at 12:10am in PHX on my iPhone 7+. I didn't try any other devices since I was locked to the pre-preorder that I had done on Monday. Hot mess. Delivery 17-24 now. I could've picked up on launch day in Tucson, but it's honestly not worth the 5-6hr (with traffic) drive from where I live in NW Phoenix.

ATT Silver 256 ordered 12:10:59-ish am.

App refresh started for me at 7:55,
I see the order page at 8:01:45
Finished order at 8:02
Confirmation email at 8:02
2 x 256 GB Silver
Arriving 3rd Nov
Paid full with Apple Pay with a debit card. (Called bank prior and told them to put a "large transaction marker" on the fraud detection system on my account, which worked beautifully.)
London, UK

Couldn't use the apple store app on my 7+. The minutes were ticking away. By 3:04 I decided to try safari. Was done by 3:08AM and screen captured my confirmation for delivery 11/3 at 3:09AM.

I still haven't gotten an email confirmation of my order but my bank has been charged and the order is listed as "In Progress" on my account on the Apple website.

256 SG AT&T. Did NOT use ApplePay. Just used the credit card that is on my iTunes account.

I am trying to figure out how Apple stages the opening of orders around the world. Macrumors had stated that orders opened at 12:01. The apple store app on my iPhone and the Apple website were in "We'll be back" status until 12:12 am (I am in the San Francisco area). I recollect this was exactly the same time orders opened for my 7+ last year.

So for those who got orders before 12:12, what was the time (Pacific Daylight), what did you order (color, RAM, carrier), where were you geographically, and what app were you using to place the order (Apple Store App iPhone, Safari Web Mac, Carrier site, etc.)?

If we can figure out how the staging works there will be less stress (It's 12:10 and I can't order! What am I doing wrong?!).
I’m in SF, 256gb, silver, Verizon and I used the apple app (website was no buenos for me) and got it 12:03ish...

iPhone upgrade so very little typing or anything, checked out with Apple Pay

Only had Apple Store app open (forced killed all other apps) in my 6s Plus (also was in Do Not Disturb mode to not get interrupted). Started at 11.58 to force kill, open, force kill, open Apple Store app. Went live for me at 12:04. Used Apple Pay to purchase. In store pick up (Century City) on November 3.

CANNOT WAIT! Looking at my current phone in disgust. It's over baby!

In my opinion, it was just random thing.
My wife and I sit next each other and my wife could get into apple App Store around 3:03 am ET and I could not get into apple App Store until 3:05 am. I was a panic mode since my wife keep complaining about wrong shipping address errors, Even though the shipping address was correct. we checked the shipping address several times two days ago. She finished her order right after I got into apple store and helped me but I was stuck with error messages for a few mins and keep pushing continue button then the order went through. I received my order confirmation email (11/3) at 3:10am.

Did the same thing you did. My desktop was allowed through after five minutes but I was forced to use the still-dead app thanks to prequalifying. Got a second-wave order, forced to accept delivery and not even asked if I wanted pickup, never mind that people in this thread are reporting setting up pickups. The delivery delay isn't a big deal as my phone works fine. But when you have a special-needs kid who's lucky to be alive and has medical issues/appointments, not being able to pick up at a prearranged time when others are allowed to sure is. I'm probably going to write a polite email asking why this option was denied when others had it.

Confirm emails for order set up and IUP upgrade acceptance took hours even though some people seem to have gotten theirs instantly and I've gotten emailed instantly for past orders.

Looking at the numbers I thought more people would order the 256 GB.

Is this purely a price issue or do people leverage iCloud and therefore don't need the extra space?

Ditto re Apple store app not working. First time ever apple.com came up first, at 3:07 ET. Even after apple store app went live, could not get anything done there - just kept returning errors, try again, kicked back out to start over. On the MAC, lots of struggles with getting verification from Verizon, then more struggle to get the IUP application in to Citizens One, but finally got an order in at around 3:15, 256GB space gray, Nov 3 delivery.

Apple store app. Central time 2:09 am. 11/3 delivery. Have tracking.

Att device on next with trade in
256 gig space gray.

I’m in SoCal.

I relentlessly refreshed the Apple Store app on my iPhone and iPad, and Apple.com on my MBP.

The Apple Store app came through first, and my order for a silver 256GB X was completed within minutes. My email confirming a November 3 delivery was received at 12:06am. 🙂

I got really lucky. I was super happy at the time, but the more I hear about how much trouble others had, the luckier I feel!

I did the same thing. Killed all other apps, opened the app, force killed it, opened it again a million times, stayed close to my router, but no go with Apple store app on my iPhone 7+ and iPad Pro. First time in years only Apple.com worked, albeit with endless errors and reroutings and some not so flavorful language on my part 🙂

First year I couldn’t use the Apple Store app. Used Safari through my iPad. Got my Nov 3rd date. But oddly the Apple Store app was unreliable this year.

I think it was unreliable because it too a bigger hit. Almost every YouTuber out there was postinf “how to successfully pre order your iPhone” videos.

I use AppleMusic and like to download a lot of my stuff for offline playback. I also do a lot of video with my iPhone. That's why I need more space.
