FYI, your IMEI unlock transfers ;), and the genius should put that screen protector on the new phone (they always do for me anyway).

Good to know:)
Still a hassle having to drive a half hour away and find time to do it.
But if 6.0.1 doesnt fix it either I have no choice.
Did any of you guys try a reset network and did it make any difference or still the same?

You sure about this? How would you explain an unlocked phone that you purchased at the subsidized price?

You dont explain anything.
They just punch in the old IMEI in the system and link it to the new replacement device they give you. Its all done automaticly and the properties transfer just like a backup restore.
There's many ways an AT&T i5 can be unlocked, either bought full price or you paid the etf or you gave them proof of military service deployment etc...
But again you dont have to say any of that, its all automatic.

thanks for explaining for me.
Automagically happens...

Thanks for the explanation guys. Good to know just in case I need to swap my phone out because of this wifi issue.

How come you mentioned having to pay for another imei unlock if you get a replacement phone then?

Since you are so patient about the issue, it has also been recommended that updating your Wireless Router firmware may help the issue.

Didn't do squat for me (since I have a Time Capsule that is on the latest firmware), but may be worth looking into.

I'm just scared they will mess up and give me a locked one. But like you said if they do it right it should be good to go:)

Mine is up to date.
I wish I could go around updating everyone's router firmware but I don't think it's plausible:)

Not to beat a dead horse, but having some odd issues again...

I settled on my replacement iPhone more than two weeks ago and things have been....ok. Not good or great, just okay. I'm fine with having some issues, and the ones that I have had are tolerable.

Yesterday I had a REALLY strange incident with my battery. My usage and standby times when totaled was longer than when I took it off the charger (i.e. 12 hours total when the phone had only been removed from the charger less than 8 hours ago). I ran the battery all the way dead and gave it a full charge overnight.

Today, I notice that my wifi problems with work are now back. This is after changing the encryption on the AP to TKIP (short term workaround). My phone will not connect to the AP now after having almost two weeks without issue.

Now it cycles from Not Connected to Company Wifi and immediately back to Not Connected. Two second pause and the cycle repeats.

I think I might wait this one out to see if the issue is acknowledged instead of playing the replacement lottery again.

I took my phone in to an Apple store yesterday to buy AppleCare+ and to have them look into the wifi problems I'm having with my iphone 5 (slow connections, frequent disconnects, not seeing wifi networks, etc.). They told me that they had received a bulletin stating that Apple is aware of the issue and that they are working on a fix (two different guys told me that). They also said that they were only swapping out phones for people who are unable to connect to wifi at all. I'm sure I could have forced the issue and gotten them to give me a new phone but I have very little confidence that a new phone would solve the issue.

My new phone worked fine for a few days and was back to the same problem. Only thing that fixes it 100% for me is keeping bluetooth off, or at least turning it off a few blocks from my house before it connects to wifi. Once that happens it needs a reboot.
