iPod touch is too thin for me. I had to put a case on it just to bulk it out.

I know others think a 4 inch plus screen would be awkward to use but I find the thinness far more awkward compared to any 4 inch screened device.

I actually wouldn't mind if Apple went back with the bezel. Not because I want the shiny chrome back because it scratches easily. But because it gives a rounder shape around the edges.

I love the pure aesthetics of the iPhone 4, but from pure ergonomics, I much prefer the older models when holding it in my hands for a long time when it is caseless. This is why I never I got the Xperia X1 back in 2008-2009. While beautiful and made in stainless steel, I didn't like the edges. And the Palm Pre was known to have sharp edges at the bottom once the QWERTY was out. I don't like jagged edges in the corners. So if they plan to make an iPhone thinner, at least make them rounder in the corners too.

you guys are all crazy...apple will do a redesign every two years. what do you guys think a redesign consists of when it is coming from apple? lmao... A THINNER device..im not saying it will be as thin as the iPod touch any time soon. but with technology advancing i can see it happening. and the op made a solid point everyone saying "eww it'll be too thin" or "i couldn't hold it in my hands" we will all adapt.

Wow so interesting to see how many people don't want it thinner! Never thought that would be the case.

I'd much rather my 4th gen ipod touch had the design of the iphone4 than what it currently has.

Agreed, although in a way, it's current design is pretty nice. I like the tapered edges.

Anyway, I don't think it'll ever be as thin. As someone said, it gets to a point where it's too thin. It's a phone, not a piece of paper.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Ugh. I hope not. :(

Righ? That thing is just...uncomfortable to hold.

LOL... I remember the days where people upgrade to the next smallest phone. Now, it's about bigger screen and thinner.:p

I do like the current size, but I just hope it gets a little more durable on the next design. My 5 year old boy still uses my first gen iPhone, and that thing is a tank.

It can be thinner, people just don't want it as thin as the iPod touch, which is too thin for a phone.

I'd like it. Where's the precedent for Apple making things thicker? If anything, they'll make it that thin an sell a case to maker it thicker if the buyer prefers.

No, that would be a waste of money on their part. They would make the iPhone as thin as possible as long as it was still comfortable to use for extended periods of time.

Thinner is better. If it could be made as thin as a subtle knife, I wouldn't have to carry cutlery! I might need a needle and thread to stitch my fingers back on though.

They'll probably tell you you're holding it wrong. After all, 98% of the time I am talking on my iPhone I'm using the headphones. I'm not holding a phone up to my brain for hours per week and neither should anyone else.

Never gonna happen.

Unless some amazing advancement in battery technology comes there is no way in hell that Apple would make a phone so thin that it would sacrifice battery life.

I agree. You should try holding it up to your ear.

And when you play games/browse the web/email/text/etc? Are you using your headphones for that too? For most of what the iPhone does you need to have it in your hand.

The touch is too thin. But the kinetic iWatch.. (that works with bluetooth 3) -that's what you're looking for. Give Apple a few years, you'll be wearing one.
