Release: September 21st

Event: Sept 11th
iOS 12: Sept 18th

Try Wednesday, September 12. No company would hold a broadcasted worldwide event on the 11th over the importance of that _specific_ day.

In fact, wasn't it a couple years ago the pre-order day was going to fall on the 11th, so they pushed it to the next Friday resulting in a 2-week or so period of event-to-inhand?

But you have been around here for a while and the same thing happens every year.

Just because I have 'been around here for a while' doesn't mean that i've always followed news about the iPhone or always been interested in the iPhone so how am I supposed to know these things? And secondly the release dates differ some years so no the same thing does not happen every year hence me asking when it was being released.

I am pretty certain that it will be. I doubt the 2018 iPhone X Plus will be $1099, meaning it will move into the $999 slot. They have been able to work out the suppliers to negotiate the prices down and since they are ordering two of everything (one part for the X, one part for the X plus).

And that will likely have me upgrade since I am on the iPhone upgrade program and it makes total sense to upgrade to a lower monthly cost with the latest technology.

The recently announced galaxy note 9 512gb variant is $1249 US

I expect the iPhone X Plus to be around the same
