Eh I wouldn't pay for it as I'm not an iPhone gamer. But it is seriously cool.
Some students are so damn smart!

This kind of thing would definitely qualify as a "killer app" in my book. Its going to be useful for games as well as more functional day-to-day stuff (see Layar). I'm no developer so I don't know if there are any limitations to doing this on the iPhone, it has all the right hardware, so as long as developers have all the relevant APIs, apps like these are going to be available (hopefully) soon. As for the price, I would rather it not be 35$ but if its a full-fledged game and not just a toy, who knows, I'd definitely consider it.

Excuse me, but the correct word is weed.
:D

......

anyways

yeah i mean when this technology starts to surface - it only takes 1 game to change how all of the others are made.

idk about you but if i had this i'd definitely be investing in some of those VR goggles haha

I believe the iPhone SDK doesn't allow developers to use the camera API for anything else than taking pictures :( .

Cool stuff indeed.

Maybe we will soon be able to kill or beat up people we hate on iPhone... only in game of course. :D

Wow.... If the iPhone could do this after the 3.1 update I would spend alot on somethintlike this..... That is assuming the map thing is included....

I think it's cool, but cooler yet would be an augmented gaming application that brought a live version of laser tag/ Doom to your phone.

Essentially, it would convert the phone into a gun sight in an augmented reality game with other players. You would shoot other players through the phone and images of the weapon fire and explosions would appear on your screen and be recorded.

Real world items could be used as powerups for your virtual phone weapons. For instance, running to a location and aiming the camera at a tagged item such as a fire hydrant would convert your phone into a firehose which would be used to spray your opponents.

I'm not sure the technology is there yet, but I am looking forward to seeing what clever apps will be developed when 3.1 is released.
