Where are the new screensavers in iOS 12.

Just updated my Apple TV 4K to to the new iOS 12 and was eagerly looking forward to the new NASA screensavers, but I don’t see them. I had heard they weren’t in the betas, but had hoped the public release would have included them. Anyone have better luck?
 
I have the new NASA screensavers on all 3 of my version 4 Apple TV’s. Screensavers include the Korean Peninsula, Pacific Ocean and Siberia/Mongolia.

They were not present on initial upgrade and assumed they are downloaded automatically afterwards. I checked an hour after upgrading and they are now present and available via the preview feature. They are pretty stunning.

Are they listed as a new Screen Saver Type? Or included with the Aerial ones we already had? Mines been updated for about 6 hours and I still don’t have them.

I still don’t have them, do you? I assumed they would be in a new category, but either way, I don’t have them. I have about 10 of the flyovers, so made I won’t get a new one until tomorrow since I have ‘Download New Video’ set to daily. But the other poster says he has three new ones already.
 
I have always had issues with the screensavers (have a 4k). I have always had the same 10/12 screensavers. I have never had a San Francisco, New York or Hawaiian one for example. I called apple several times, they told me it would be fixed on this update (I have always had it set to download daily, but I have always had the same ones on a loop).

Yesterday I did a hard reset for IOS12, I now have 5 screensavers, 2 are the new NASA ones, 3 are 3 of the same I had before. But figures crossed I will start getting more.

Anybody else have the same issue? Apple said its the first they have heard of this issue.

Or do you all get a new one every day and have seen most available over time?

Up to now I have been set to weekly, & had the same Aerial for weeks (Dubai, I think.)
Same as you, never got Hawaii, never got Greenland.

By the way, i thought they said you could swap Screensavers on TVOS12 - did I read that wrong, or is it possible?

EDIT: Never mind, I found it; a gentle swipe across on the touch pad! Never tried that before! :rolleyes:

Yeap, you swipe to the side to change it.

Very annoying though, it is one of the main reasons I got an Apple TV. I assumed that one screensaver a day would be added per day and one removed, on a cycle. Nope!

In my experience (I have also set the update cycle to shortest available - daily), the screensavers change when:
  1. Time of day changes (day and night versions)
  2. Upon completion.
    One screensaver lasts anywhere from 3-5 minutes.
    On my box, when one ends next one is started.
    Never seen a same scene repeat back-to-back.
 
After updating to tvOS 12, I see the same old screensavers (Dubai, Hong Kong, LA, one from Greenland), and a seemingly new one. Pacific coast from space :). Hope to see more.

That's interesting. Those are the same ones I see, except I don't have the space one. For some reason, even though I have it set to download Daily, I'm still stuck with just the Dubai, Hong Kong, LA and Greenland. I used to have some Hawaiian ones but they're not showing up now. Although those may have been on a different TV.

I updated two of my Apple TVs last night (a 4K and a 4), but only tested the screensavers on the 4K.

I don't really want to do a hard reset and lose my other settings, though.

So the people with Apple TV 4K only get the 4K screensavers and not the 1080p versions including Hawaii, etc. Owners of previous devices have a much bigger collection of screensavers. Have the 4K one also. But another has just been added today. One that I have never seen before. China.
So there could be hope for you all!

I reset and then swiped through all of them, it still wasn’t there.
Aboutn5’minutes later it just poped up. If you have downloads set to daily I would just wait a day longer and see what happens.

Yep, I set to Daily, restarted, came back about 30 minutes later and had the space one. But personally in the end I didn't think the one that came up was as interesting as some of the earth scenes (And I LOVE shots of Earth from Space - guess that shows how beautiful some of the others are!)

I just did that and waited 60 minutes. Still the same flyovers and no space scenes. I do have 12 of the flyovers. Maybe that’s all it can hold. I’ve never counted them before now since os 12 let’s us swipe through them.
 
I just did a reset and update on my tv gen 4 tonight (which I didn’t really want to do, but the restore from backup went much faster than I have experienced in the past). After I set the correct time zone and changed the download to daily, I got two space aerials after about 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, I still have the issue of the aerials not correctly corresponding to the current time (it displays all screensavers regardless of time of day or night). I can’t seem to figure that one out.
 
Think it’s really bizarre that they don’t let you choose which aerial you want. I’d probably just choose the space station views over the flyovers all the time and mix it up just at my choosing.
