I'm going to get one on eBay with the $200 cashback deal from Microsoft.

For those of you that don't know, here's a basic rundown:

1. Go to live.com and search for example "new macbook." You might have to try variations of that to get it to give you the right link(next step)
2. There should be three sponsored links at the top, and one of them should have these words in it "Macbook eBay cashback". You'll see which one when your there.
3. Click the link and you'll be brought to ebay, with a little cashback logo at the top saying "save up to 20%" or something like that.
4. As long as you buy something within the next 60 minutes(after having clicked the link from live.com), you should get the cash back offer, and make sure it also mentions cashback during checkout.
5. You should get a message after buying about cashback.

Notes:
Its for buy it now only
You need to make a cashback account(free and easy)
Its 20% but not over $200
Need a PayPal account
The money won't go to your paypal account for 60+days.

Great way to bring the price down to about $1100 though, and there isn't any risk if Microsoft doesn't send you the money anyway.

I'm going to get one on eBay with the $200 cashback deal from Microsoft.

I also had the 10% off eBay coupon which knocked off another $100. :D I got an aluminum macbook for $999 with free shipping and an Incase sleeve.

Apple online, took 2 long weeks! but I'm sure it was worth it when i get home today and open the box :)

Went to an electronics store, and got $600 off a new 2.4hz alu MB. included wireless internet that works all over Japan, anywhere, anytime at 7.2kps for $50/month. boooya.

I see directions above-but I still don't get it. WHY (!?!) would microsoft give cash off a Mac Book purchase?

Can it be used for Applecare as well?

It doesn't matter what the product is. MS is giving cashback as an incentive to use their search engine instead of Google, Yahoo, etc. More info here: http://search.live.com/cashback/howToUse

As far as eBay is concerned, MS will give cash back (up to $200) on all Buy It Now auctions so yes, you can even use it to buy Applecare. I simply used mine on a new macbook someone listed at cost so I was able to get it for much less.
