Probably not related to the chip, but I had a Samsung 6s battery was always getting hot, battery life was pretty bad in the end it overheated in my hand apple replaced it, I have a tsmc 6s now and it's always cool and battery life is a lot better

9.5 hours usage
42 hours standby
And still 25% left

This is with the "good" chip (TSMC):D

These kind of threads are useless because users cheat in their usage stats. I can get 20h+ on my Samsung 6s+ if I listen to music with the screen off. Also there's no way to tell the real SOT on iOS devices, only on Android.

You can usually tell about the usage and what's behind it if the actual apps and their usage times are posted as well.

Oh man, you are such a lucky one with this battery life. 55% and 7 and a half hours of usage... Wow

We are sitting in the same boat. It s ridiculuous this battery life. Weren't u thinking about bringing the phone back? Because you have a legit proof that your phone does not last even 6 hours...

Does any of you has facebook and messenger of their iphone? Did you see any difference when you first had the two apps on your phone regarding battery life and then without the two?

Well I realize that it was Youtube that was killing my battery life. So I disabled background refresh and so far I've got 9 Hr usage with 29 hour standby. About 12% remaining in the battery.

Haha what a ****ing difference compared to mine. I have exact the same usage, excepts for the chip and the battery usage. Standby is the same but my usage at 25% is 5h30min.... it s ridiculous :(

Keep exchanging until you get a TSMC chip. It's worth it.

Mine is with screen on. I'm not sure why my Uverse app says audio but I was watching live TV.

I agree about people easily being able to skew the number. What makes it even funnier is with the regular 6s and the apple battery case the phone just counts the case as part of the phone battery. It will never say that it has been plugged in or anything, so you could pad stats that way on the 6s model. At least that's what I noticed while I was using it before returning.

OMG people are STILL talking about this? Folks, TSMC=Samsung. Learn it. Live it. Know it.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

I'll explain you my "problem": so i bought my iPhone through my operator (Luxembourg) so not directly from apple. I am currently abroad where there is either not an apple store, only this premium resellers which do not do anything.
I would defenitly try to go back home and send it in because of the warranty. However i do not believe that once it gets into apple, they will see any problem. Or do you have any advice to give me? Because if they do sth about it, they will send me a new refurbished phone. It's a really tricky situation at the monent regarding this.
And i cannot believe that my 2 year iphone 5's battery is handling better.

Really sucks for anyone that paid top dollar for an iPhone with the inferior Samsung chip.

When the iPhone 6s Plus launched I got one with the Samsung a9, it overheated constantly and the battery was inferior to my 6 plus. Returned it and got one with a tsmc a9, couldn't be happier.

I agree. I have a FitBit paired to my 6s via Bluetooth. If I check battery usage stats, I can get over 10 hrs usage per charge. The Bluetooth pairing is probably doing something in the background, but isn't affecting battery much. If I turn off Bluetooth I get between 6-7 hrs usage time per charge. The usage stats screenshots are not very accurate.
I have my battery % turned off (since iPhone 5), my phone lasts all day, I charge it at night.

1 week old iPhone 6S. How is this possible this battery life? Lol i am sorry to annoy u guys, but it really bugs me. It's a crap battery life

Lol are u serious? Comparing to th stats that some people have, or that i used to have with my iphone 5, this battery life stats is quite low.
What did you use to have with iPhone 5? What you posted seems fairly decent for half battery being used.

OK I have a TSMC chip in my 6S plus, my wife has a Samsung in her 6S plus, there is no noticeable difference in battery life.

And I'm picky enough to have apple care replace an entire clamshell on my MBP for a 2 mm line at the top of the display (looked like the glass on the inside slid down). If I'm not noticing a difference, it shouldn't matter.

If you don't notice a difference, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, your just are unaware of it.
