Where do you put the dock?

I used to hide my dock on the bottom, but ever since I saw Leopard with the new dock, I didn't want it looking stupid hidden, so it is now just another element to my Mac OS desktop 
Left, always visible, no magnification.
I'd enjoy seeing screenshots of the righties. I tried that and couldn't figure out how to make it play well with the desktop. Desktop icons also want to be in the upper right, and so under the dock. They don't like being on the left side of the screen.
