Rumor is 6.0.1 is being tested by the carriers now and should be released in the next few weeks or sooner. Be glad its not like Android where it only gets release to the specific device after the carrier has tested it. ATT takes for ever to put out patches to Androids. With Apple we all get it at the same time but yes updates have been rolling out a lot slower then they used to be.

Yes. That rumor is a little old now. Not sure why the carriers have anything to do with an iOS update though. Any update to the carrier setting for sure but not for iOS updates right?

My http live streaming buffers on wifi but works great on LTE and 4g,,,I hope this is fixed in next update,, worked fine on 5.1.1 iPhone 4,, but iPhone 5 has problems,,,

6.0.1 is badly needed as 6.0.0 is very rough round the edges in places and things like the exchange meeting bug is pretty embarrassing. The App store app is hopeless to find anything with now that all the chomp crap has been integrated. All in all a very poor .0 release, Forstall needs to get his **** together fast.

Oh look, it's an apple fanboy claiming that all apple products are perfect.

I bet you are the one that says the iPhone 5 doesn't scratch easily

I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned AND my 5 doesn't scratch easily. Only scratch on it is from when I dropped in on my tile floor....and its barely noticeable.

The company cranks out millions upon millions of these devices (more than any other company) yet they don't have near the widespread problems other devices/companies encounter.

Of course some are bound to have bugs....relax. It's part of owning technology. The update will come and fix a myriad of issues (widespread and otherwise). For now, just try to enjoy life a little more - I guarantee the problems your iPhone has are not the end of the world, nor are they indicative of some larger Apple conspiracy/issue with quality control.

I think I'm going to have to quit Macrumors....at least the forums. I can't handle all of the complaining. If you have a legitimate question about a problem with your device - fine. You can ask it in a manner other than "WAH my stoopid phone's battery suX! Apple's trying to make me get a new phone by purposefully causing my battery life to drain!"

Call me what ever you like, fact is I don't have the problems.

And you right now that you mention it. I am sure the iPhone 5 doesn't scratch as easily as this forums bunch of whiners would have every one believe.

All these whining crap posts lately on here is making this site a couple steps below Howard Forums with the high schools dregs.

i think it will be released together with itunes 11.

but ya, im starting to get impatient too.

ive lost some signal strength since iOS 6 at home; hoping this will remedy it.

I'm guessing it will be released together with iTunes 11 like you said, or a day or two before or the day of that the iPad mini is released

I don't mind iOS 6 at all. Seems to be working really nice on my iPhone 5 so far. Better than it did on my 4S.

The only thing about the App Store I would want changed is the search results being full screen tiles. So hard to find things deep in that list.

Hopefully the wifi issue everyone is having starts to get fixed soon too. I had it when I first got the phone and I did a wipe and its all good now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

if history is anything to go by it will be released 2 days before the iPad mini, the 31st. Every year the next iOS is launched 2 days before the release of the product

Unfortunately (2 days before the 31st) nothing seems to have been released today...hopefully something tomorrow (or at least this week in general).

the 31st is in 2 days though... The iPad mini launches november 2nd.
I think reading your original post I thought the 31st was in reference to the launch date, but it was in reference to the day that's 2 days before it. So, with 31st being a Wed., it seems reasonable that 6.0.1 might be released then (and I think we'd settle for tomorrow or even Thu. as well). :)

Ever notice devices release on Fridays and the os update for it releases on Wednesday?

I wouldnt be surprised if we didnt get a update this week.. look whats happening with iTunes 11.. almost no October release

I'm not experiencing any of these issues, therefore they don't exist. /snark

I have seen my iPad 2 battery life go down the tubes since iOS6. I've shut everything off there is and I've still got about 60% of the battery life I had prior.

Same here with my iPad 3. Kinda frustrating given how much I travel and use it.

My biggest annoyance with iOS 6 is that the original announcement slide deck said there would be IPv6 over LTE. That's never worked on my iPad, and it worked on my iPhone 5 for a few days before "Carrier 13.1" took it away.

I rather suspect that the "phantom data usage" that people reported might have something to do with IPv6 and that disabling it with a carrier update might have been a stop-gap.

And, yes, I really do have an *actual* use for IPv6 connectivity. It lets me ssh (yes, from my *phone*) to machines behind the firewall at home without playing stupid port forwarding NAT traversal games.

It's the "hour" of truth--generally updates have come out between 10 AM and 11 AM US Pacific time, so let's hope one gets posted soon.
