where is the people who hate the two toned design and a taller iPhone 5?

the truth is, most people make conclusion by looking at the leaked pics that majority of them being taken by mr blurry cam.

u dont make an assumption before u put that real thing in your hand.

it's a real beauty!
What a load of BS.

Assumptions are made constantly out here about Android products where people with little or no experience with the product go around making claims against product size, screens, speed, battery, features etc or superiority of the iPhone. Yet where are you to defend the purity of conversations by lecturing "u dont make an assumption before u put that real thing in your hand".

Yet here we are with a product you actually do like and you're defending it like it's a family member. Why? Is it because you feel so strongly about people pre-judging products? Or is it because you are incapable of accepting the fact that discussions boards are meant for discussing both the positive AND negative.

The same thing is happening with the iPad Mini rumors where there's an uncertainty about it, so are people supposed to all take a vow of silence until its released? Or does it make perfect sense to discuss what we've seen and allow the real product to be the thing that sways our purchase decision.

Okay, and many of those who disliked the two tone design still dislike it. So what exactly is "wrong"? (Or more importantly, why are the subjective opinions on a constantly changing design trying to be proven as "right or wrong"?).

Most of those people had a change of heart. This always happens every single year. They say the leaked photos suck and are not Apple like, but when they see the final product they buy it.

Unless you're new here, you already saw this happen with the iPhone 4.

Good Retrospective Thread

For me, I still can't get used to the odd shape: Too tall for how skinny it is. This is due to the (still) bulky top and bottom sections. The 16:9 screen is fine, but still too small and not much advantage over the old screen.

The two-tone back looks fine in slate, but horrid in white. (white against aluminum is an awful color combination). The aluminum Apple used seems pretty soft, but we'll have to see how it wears. It's a bad choice (worse than glass) if you have to keep it covered up because it scratches and scuffs so easy.

It would be a decent upgrade from the 4, but not worth the $300 it would cost me.

Also not a fan of the weight?

Indeed. It's impressive that the phone is so light. But it doesn't feel right to me.

The 5 didn't wow you but the 4S did. <-- This wow'ed me :D

Well it's all relative from where you're coming from. Just my opinion, but considering there is no LTE where I live and I am indifferent on screen size, this wasn't enough of an upgrade to justify paying full price. I subscribe to the theory that the "S" updates tend to be the more complete package.

I'm pretty eager to get a new phone soon but from now on I'm going the unlocked route whenever I can. So between now and Xmas I will see what comes out.

I bet they'll trim the top and bottom sections for the iPhone 6 (two years from now; the 5S will retain the same design next year).

From the various threads/posts here, I was actually expecting it to be lighter but was surprised it's still "weighty" once I got my hands on it. Grab one end of the phone and wave it in the air. Still has good weight to it and nothing like holding a plastic utensil that you'd expect from the comments here. It certainly doesn't feel cheap like the light and plasticky iPhone 3G/3GS.

"where is the people who hate the two toned design and a taller iPhone 5?"

they are sitting at home in their solid colored Snuggies watching reruns of "Little People, Big World"*

*Oddly, I had to repost this because it got deleted. ?really? Lighten up Mods.

I hated the 4 design in pics, hated it in reviews, saw it in person, bittersweet. The more I saw it the more I liked it, then I had to have one. Basically the same thing with the 5 for me, except a lot faster. Apple has great cameramen.

The two tone iPhone 5 was ugly before and is still ugly now. Only difference now is that people wasted their money on the iPhone 5 and claim it looks good to justify their poor purchase.

Well, that is your opinion and it is meaningless.

Excellent point. There aren't many people who are honest enough after spending that kind of money to bash anything Apple. They justify it somehow.
