Never eating meat again, is not an option. I love meat and I will nver give it up.
I'm saying eating beef and red meat in general is unhealthy. Eating chicken, fish, etc.... Is a-ok.
Me and my girlfriend want to start eating better meat, meat that isn't pumped with all these hormones and steroids whatever. We don't like it.
Yes really.
Yeah I agree that's the way to do it, particularly if you arent going to relocate anytime soon. The money you save from purchasing the meat and freezer over buying it at the store is well worth it.
I'm sorry but that's not the only way to do it. Yes, its a great deal and you'll save a fair amount of money but frozen steaks, burgers and whatnot all taste like total ******. They get disgusting after a week in the freezer and in my opinion good meat should never be frozen. I'd rather buy it weekly, not worrying about storing it long term and eat it fresh. Plus you have to figure those two chest freezers cost about a dollar per day to run depending on the temp around them. That could be up to $365 per year making a 4-500 side of beef cost around 800. Not that worth it at the end of day IMO.
I never said it was the only way, it's the best way though when it comes to cost.
And taste is subjective.
Then you are not wrapping it and storing it properly.I'm sorry but that's not the only way to do it. I would have to sit down and calculate how much it actually costs me to run my freezers, but frankly not having them around we be much more a pain in the arse. I will take the $350 (supposedly) hit each year so that I can keep other things in the freezer besides the beef, pork and chicken.I'd rather buy it weekly, not worrying about storing it long term and eat it fresh. sorry I misread the first line of the post, thought I saw the only way. I agree taste is subjective. However, one of the big benefits of organic and grass fed beef is the far superior taste. Why mess with that by freezing it?
It's cool, I just wanted to clear things up.
I don't think freezing it messes with that tbh. Again, subjective. To me, the benefit of organic, grass fed beef is the superior quality in the meat regarding overall health. Not having it pumped full of antibiotics (which contributes to the hygiene theory), or eating pesticides is the most important thing to me.
well we could probably beat this topic to death but there are two things that contribute to the quality of beef. First is diet and lack of hormones/etc. second is the cattle's activity. Cows that are fed real grass and eat naturally produce better tasting beef. Cows that are more active and have to forage for their food produce more muscles and better striations which leads to leaner but more evenly dispersed fat when it comes to non ground cuts of meat. This produces a fantastic taste that is hard to fake because it effects the way the meat cooks and the way each bite tastes when you're eating it.
Agreed.
The important thing is that we all recognize that naturally grown and fed beef is the best beef.
So, in essence, your post is just baiting.
And your post was just preaching.
