I just thought of this...is there any technology at all where you could have a vibration "mat" the size of the screen, and so wherever you touch on the screen, that specific area of the screen vibrates??? This would be good for games and maybe the keyboard for users that don't like the virtual keyboard too much (you could turn this on or off obviously).

But talking about the iPhone all together...I believe it'll have a camera on both sides, the one on the front being what the one on the back is today. This'd be for photobooth and for the people that actually video conference (no idea who) to be made happy. The one on the back would be up to Nokia's N95 standard today. That's all you need really.

It'll have OLED buttons above and below the screen (where the black part is). They wouldn't be visible when you wouldn't need them, but might pop up when you're in certain applications. 3rd party developers could also use them and create the icon that they want for them. This'd be especially good for games so you don't have to touch the screen and block your view.

Specs wise...no idea. More memory and storage (32gb).

Some other features...
-Wi-Fi syncing
-Proper bluetooth
-AirTunes
-Copy and Paste
-and a feature I've always wanted...Double click the home button when the phone is locked and it shows your Favorites (instead of music controls) in the 'Slide to Unlock' screen.

-It wouldn't have MMS because it's old technology and very few people use it these days.

To be serious, I expect the iPhone to have much more space and I expect speeds to be 5x what they are now....how? No idea but maybe upgrading 3G lines and upgrading speeds that the phone will be able to handle

Also, I expect games to take massive leaps in the next few years if not months in what they are able to do

Games now are very fun but basic and it is only a matter of time before more and more games come out that are excellent, long-lasting games

I just hope that the 1st Gen iPhone will be compatible with the more complex games, but knowing Apple, they will probably purposefully make them incompatible so you have to buy the newer model. :/

The vibration thing is a good idea. I never thought of that. It would be nice to have some tactile feedback and it would be especially useful on the keyboard.

umm, lets see.

-VGA display
-camera with 5 or better mega pixels and zoom and flash
-mms
-5% market share
-80GB hard drive
-Unlocked (any cell phone provider)
-many many colors!

I hope so as well

Apple will probably continue releasing newer iPhone versions every year or so but I figure at the end of this year OR for the early part of the next phone, we will see a dramatic increase in game qualities

I often wonder if Apple will ever add additional buttons on new models, or if they will always only have a single home button?

Apple will never make a CDMA iPhone. I mean seriously, why on Earth would they? Other than the US, it's pretty much exclusively used by 3rd world countries. And even then, nobody is planning to support UMB over LTE (which is GSM-based).

In 2 years, we may have an LTE iPhone. I doubt it, though. Once the AT&T exclusivity deal is over, I think we'll see two models emerge:

- One that's the same size as the current phone. Perhaps with some kind of RFID support for phone payment technologies, and Wireless USB or UWB for data transfers. Better camera than we have now, but not by much. This is still a phone, and that's always going to be the focus. Also has a faster processor and more RAM.

- The iPhone 3G we have now, but with more smallness. Potentially with an induction charging dock and syncing over WiFi/cellular/UWB/WiUSB/whatever.

You think it currently is?

mine is..... to me it just seems like there is too much hype. apple is getting everyones money and screwing them at the same time!

ever since i upgraded to 2.0, my iphone is total crap. everything works, but everything blows. every time i go to send an sms it loads the three messages that were in the conversation which take 2 minutes. then i go to add a recipient and it loads my 82 contacts for 2 additional minutes. i never had any problems with 1.1.4
