If you could live anywhere in the world except where you are from where would it be?

Forget how expensive a country is, remove all factors and just pick a city were you think is the best place for you to live in.

San francisco, i dont know why but San francisco seems like a clean, friendly city to me.

My favorite city I've ever visited was Sienna Italy. It just felt perfect.

I also wouldn't mind moving back to my hometown of Portland, Oregon. I also like Savannah, Georgia.

I saw a list recently of the world's top cities on Yahoo or somewhere. Anyway, the scandanavians topped the list but I believe Munich was 3rd. Anyway, I'm living in Munich now and I love it!

But if I could live anywhere, it'd probably be Malmö, Sweden.

I wouldn't live in a city that's for sure :p

I'd just like to live anywhere in Austria, Bavaria, Poland kind of place. In the middle of a giant content up some hill surrounded by mountains and forests. No specific place though

New York City, where I live now.

I suppose if not here, I've always loved London (despite the high cost of living).

Nippon!

I got to visit about 20 years ago, and almost taught English there. I would really enjoy going back to stay for a few years.

Berlin.

Possibly New York or Barcelona.

I haven't visited San Francisco, Portland, Oslo, or Reykjavik, but I suspect they're also places I'd like to live.

Auckland, NZ.

Going on vacation there in a few months; can't wait! Who knows, maybe I'll find a company in dire need of a sysadmin that's willing to pay for me to move.. .hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

Hmm tough choice. Capri, Italy would be nice, or Sorrento, Italy, or Assisi, Italy, or some where just outside of Florence, Italy, that would be nice too. Some of the small towns in Greece would be nice, Tolo, Greece would be pretty cool, I even found Athens to be rather nice. Monaco has always intrigued me too, but I have yet to travel there.

Within America I would proably go with Maui or Boston.

San Francisco is not clean. Sorry to burst your bubble. It's about average for a city of its size, but it's not clean.

I would live in NYC first, and if not that, I would choose Chicago. I like large metropolitan areas...something about isolated villages scares the hell out of me.

I'd like to live in NYC once, just to see what its like, but I think that I'd really like to live in Indianapolis - its a mildly large city, but its not hugantic. Just right. :)

Tuscany in Italy, My brother has a shop & villa out there, so peaceful, by some gorgeous lakes, it's a million miles from here ...................

I'm with Bugs, and am gonna take a "wong toin' at Albakoikee", why pick one when there's so many? And why stop with the planet? Virgin Galactic has to get it together so I can meet my other personal hero!;)

My top five.

1. Toronto, ON
2. NYC, NY
3. Stockholm, SE
4. London, UK
5. Vancouver, BC

EDIT
I love where i currently live; Gold Coast AUS, Melbourne AUS is also nice.

toronto can be self involved, notorious, vancouver Is self involved, are you sure you want to subject yourself to this? Couldn't be two less friendly cities. Believe me. Luckily, i already had friends when I moved to Van. Coming from Calgary, Manitoba & Saskatchewan(god I love typing that name, along with Buffy St. Marie). Vancouver was a horrifying wake-up call, with the exception of the 'railway club' in the 90's. methinks this town would have been lost to me. Luckily i'm extremely handsome' which offset my difficulties. But my poor ugly friends really had the time of their lives!!! :D:D:D
