Somewhere that is close to the beach, close to the mountains, close to a wilderness area, close to modern conveniences, in a climate with four distinct seasons. Let me know if you live there.

Boston?

Great Skiing in NH about an hour or so away. Many options for great beaches, both north and south on the Cape. Definitely 4 distinct seasons. Wilderness in NH, western MA, VT or ME.

And of course pretty much all modern conveniences. :)

Vancouver, BC if you don't mind the rain.

Or Calgary, AB if you're OK with having those "four distinct seasons" potentially happen all in one day :)

Little Chef, Sampford Peverell.
:D

Vancouver
Geneva
Some little castle town in Bavaria
Tuscany
NZ

Havana.

But I did see an island off the coast of Nicaragua for sale on the internet a few years ago that looked nice :)

LONDON!!!!!!!! :)

I have always loved the British culture! I keep saying this but if things don't work out in the United States for me then I will stop at nothing to move to Europe! :)

1. Where I live now! High enough up the ridge not to worry much about the snowmelt in spring, and close enough to the road to get from the car to the house through deep, deep snow.

Oh, you mean if I come to my senses and leave before it snows. Ahh.

1. Adelaide, South Australia
2. Portugal, discounting the current unpleasantness re: McCann case.
3. Argentina (in love today with pop singer Coti). Creo que el tren ya se va...
4. Canada. Toronto.
5. New York City.... still in my blood.

If I could speak Japanese, definitely Tokyo.
New York would be second.
But I like living in London anyway, so I'd stay.

You could just come to Santiago, if you don't mind the different language and the smog, and if your definition of beach includes really cold water (damn you Humboldt!) :)

Anyways, for me I think it would have to be Australia, though I've never been there yet. I want to live by the beach in a place where its summer all year long!

San Francisco is sorta clean, but really, if you saw the tenderloin you will change your mind.

To be honest, I think New York City (Manhattan, specifically, which is by itself bigger than San Francisco) is much cleaner. San Francisco's bizarre and MUCH smaller "subway" is much cleaner, but NYC's is much more far-reaching and useful.

I still enjoy living in SF and Bay Area though. But like someone else said, NYC will always be in my blood.

For where I wouldn't mind living, I would like to live in San Marino, Italy for a while. Not permanently, just for a while :)

Naples, Italy or Palermo, Italy. I haven't been back to those places since I left at age six. :( NYC would be next, then California somewhere... LA maybe.

People will probably think Im crazy, but I don't care. I want to live in NJ! I admit Im from there, but living in VA right now, and can't stand it. Theres just something about Jersey that does it for me. I lived there for 23 years, and it has become a part of me. I don't care what anybody says NJ is a great state! As they say "You can take the boy out of Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the boy".

Now Im depressed, and homesick :(

I've lived in the Andes mountains for over 20 years now, so it's like football weather year 'round. We miss the seasonal changes in the States, but I do love Fall and Winter. A Stateside regional choice would be the New England area.

haha, well I really like NJ too but I don't really like the long winter or the high living expense.

I'd send you a taylor ham, egg and cheese on a bagel right now if I could ;)

Amen to ALL of that! Sorry but Colorado doesn't begin to compare....

Personally I LOVE winter, the more snow the better (sadly haven't seen any in 2 years). As for living expenses thats something I have to try to figure out before moving back.

P.S. Now you made me hungry :) Luckily one store down here actually carries Taylor Ham, even though nobody has a clue what it is down here :). We can actually get good Bagels too, but they wouldn't know a kaiser roll if I threw it at them. Which is what I feel like doing with most of them. LOL

You said it brother, It's nice to see Im not the only one. Every time I mention living in Jersey, people seem to think I've lost my mind.

We need to start a "Who loves NJ Thread"

Somewhere else along the California coast; maybe Santa Cruz. I have a thing for beach towns. :D

I was going to say T/H, egg, cheese on a roll but I thought for sure they would have good rolls and bad bagels. :)

I fear starting a NJ thread would bring out all kinds of trolls
