If new MBP's supposed to come out end of this month, shouldn't there have been a Keynote invitation by Apple for the media already?

Invitations should be send to media before 21st October if the event is this month. So, 1 or 2 weeks more to receive THE MOST DESIRED INVITATIONS EVER.

I believe Apple tends to provide a 2 week notice on their media events, so two weeks from Monday is the 24th, so I I think if they have any media event it will be that week or the following week.

Funny, if you look at the "Similar Threads" at the bottom of this page, it shows previous announcements. From the few I looked at, it seems the invites sometimes go out as little as seven days beforehand...

Yeah true, it seems in 2013 October Event was on Oct 22 and invitations sent out 15th. So I guess soon then.

Invitations Monday or Tuesday of this week. Event next week.

Maybe. It would literally have to be Monday or Tuesday, though. Apple is bound by law to enter a quiet period (usually about a week) before conference calls in which they don't announce new stuff. The next one is set for the 25th.

So if we don't get something tomorrow, my money is on the 27th. The call was originally set for this date, so that would also explain why it was moved.

Tomorrow is Columbus Day, so probably Tuesday or next week

It's not observed in CA so it could conceivably happen. Wouldn't get as much attention, though, so probably not.

My money is on the 20th with the event on the 27th.

Usually they send invites around 10 days before the event. Event or not I really hope the will update the macbooks without waiting for 2017.

I didn't think they would bother with a MacBook event, expected them to just throw them up on the store lol.

I highly doubt that since there will be design changes according to the rumors. Also, there are still important things for Apple to do a keynote like watch bands, iPad, watch bands...

Tuesday, I was kinda hoping to hear something today about this months updates. If not only news they're planning for 'on the table' devices like laptops and workstations to get an update in November.

Kinda bored waiting, might as well throw my money out the window

I don't know what to say. I refuse to believe they are waiting 2017...... especially after the quarterly latest PC sales figures shown few days ago.

If it doesn't happen in October or the by the first week of November, then it will likely be 2017. Then I guess refusal becomes reality.

There was an article saying that once we the GM for MacOS Sierra we will most likely see some macbook pro announcements soon after. This was so apple could load the finished Sierra OS on the new macs free of any major bugs. Still possible to be announced this month, just preorders may be out a little further.

The question is why did they wait so long? If they decided to skip Skylake and go straight to Kaby Lake, then I'm afraid it's definitely 2017, hopefully early and not mid-2017.

But if they are sticking to Skylake, I have no idea why it took them so long...

Yeah it doesn't seem wise for these to come out after the conference call. "We've got new macs coming out this week" isn't the ideal way to assuage concerns that the company is losing potential profits and their leadership on a whole sector.

At this point I'm banking on a release in 2018

I think it will come with Skylake, and Apple will save Kaby Lake as a minor spec bump for the Macs next year.

Why it took them so long? Probably has to deal with difficulty in producing the new chasis & OLED touch bar.

Yeah, but then there's the Mac Mini, no OLED touch bar there? Mac Pro too
