Maybe because they don't want to buy a an NEC or Dell monitor because Apple's ACDs haven't been updated in ages, with the exception of the absurd 24" laptop only, ACD mirror.

OK, I was impatiently waiting for the 2009 WWDC so the new 30 inch screen would come out. WTF! I can't believe it? STILL NO UPDATE.

It's been like 5 years now and still no major update! What are you thinking Apple? I was willing to drop a couple of grand for a new screen, but I guess I will buy from one of your competitor's instead.

I think Apple is really lagging in the professional market right now. They talked about the MacBook Pro for like 30 seconds in the speech and then went straight to the iphone. I guess they are going where the money is by selling kids a bunch of icandy.

?? I am not talking about price here. I am just lamenting on the fact that talk and updates to the pro-consumer line of products are taking second fiddle these days.

Ok... this is getting ridiculous.. the longer i wait, the harder it is to just forget about the new 30" and buy off the open market. If i just buy a new NEC or whatever (haven't really researched them) and Apple releases the new 30" i'll be pissed.

Oh the agony of this crappy 19" Samsung - each angle is a different brightness.

Talest Skil made a good point, maybe a 30" LED is cost prohibitive.. so fine.. just give me something big, Matte, bright, consistent, and reliable.

That Samsung 30" is not IPS. A comparable IPS panel similar to the 24" ACD will be much more.

There are plenty of 30" that fits your requirement btw. 30" nearly all use IPS or the next best which is PVA.
