13 inch TB with the i5 and 16GB of RAM, this is the sweet spot. tried it out love the TB and preferred it over the 15 I took home as well to do a side by side of the two. Love the 13 in form factor, love the silver, it's brighter and the keyboard contrasts better than the SG. I LOVE the new keyboard and love the speed of the machine. Still getting used to the TB but so far I like it a lot and can't wait for more apps to become compatible.

Overall I am really happy with the 13 inch. Only thing I am not happy with is the price since all the new MBPs are overpriced.

got a 15" / 2.9 cpu / 460 guaphics / 16G ram
-it is just not that fast even comparing it with my old mid 2010 MBP . Both have SS drives.
-the large track pad is clunky
-the tough bar is a marketing gimmick
-expensive for what you get

I compared them side by side as well. I liked the 13" much better. The 15" seemed huge to me and I've enjoyed carrying the 13" already. Comparing the screen size to my old 15", I'm not losing that much. And, the software I use doesn't even take advantage of the quad core processor so, for my purposes, the processor on my maxed out 13 " is faster. I'm thinking that the 550 iGPU will be faster too since I'm not using any software that would incorporate the dGPU and the 15" uses and inferior iGPU. Finally, I'm concerned about the longevity of the dGPU given the history of these components on MacBook Pros. Ultimately, the form factor of the 13" won me over. It's a very powerful laptop and the the size/performance ratio is a great value.

13 inch non-touchbar. It is a MacBook with an additional port, basically. I don't need much power, and I have got no use for the touchbar

This is interesting. People seem to be choosing the 13 inch for portability and the better igpu and the 15 inch for power and screen real estate.
[doublepost=1479975211][/doublepost]But overall people seem to think portability is less of an issue even with the 15 inch in these new generation mbps

Am I the only one who thinks the 15 inch looks far better with its full sized speaker grills, palm rest area and screen? To me the 13 inch looks a bit 'MBP lite'.

What specs are people getting with their 15 inches? Are they maxing them out?

Got the 13" with Touch Bar. I debated getting the 15" for the larger display as I like to watch a lot of videos on my laptop, but decided I didn't need the dedicated graphics, and would prefer to have a smaller device. Also didn't want the non-Touch Bar version because I do think the Touch Bar has a lot of potential.

13" NTB but it's going back, replacing it with the 12" MB.

Hi, please post your experience and reasons for doing this in one of the Macbook threads! This will help!

So what was the main deciding factor. Was it price or the issues with the dgpu? Or was it the portability of the 13 inch?

An additional port, an additional 450 grams, ever so slightly larger, and yes, importantly, an additional fan to keep the device working at top rated power for longer. :)

Ordered a 13" non-TB with upgraded SSD to 512. It will replace my 2015 12" MacBook (base model). The Touch Bar seems interesting but I don't think it's fully fleshed out yet so I will wait a while for it to mature before investing in it.

Meanwhile the 13" non-TB is basically a more powerful version of my current 12" with an additional USB-C port, better keyboard and better battery life. It will be slightly thicker and heavier than my 12" but it's still going to be portable enough for me to take around everywhere and seeing as I'm not a heavy user I don't need the extra horsepower of the 15".

How much of a difference in screen real estate is there between 13 and 15? Because I don't really need the power of the 15 but I just like the screen real estate.

I pick up 15 inch, 512Gb SSD, 16Gb RAM, AMD 460 graphic, but three are a lot issue with dGPU and speaker grill. I don't know to buy 13 inch or 15 inch.

Do the issues exist with all the dgpus?

I first got the 13 TB. used it for a few days...really liked it, but regretted not getting the 15inch. For another $500, I chose to upgrade the processor, GPU, memory and screen. I use this machine primarily for Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing. SO the extra real estate and power is very handy. And as a 6' 1" 250pound guy...the extra pound is not an issue :)

I also have a 12 rMB for travel and portability. It is a nice combo of devices if you can do it.

13-inch, 2.9/16/1T.
It has the right balance of portability and computing power for my purposes. Since I'll be using it with an external monitor over 90% of the time, there's no reason for me to go 15-inch. Plus I'm being cautious with a first-generation discrete GPU.

This is to replace my 2010 15-inch by the way. My needs have changed since then, ergo the change in screen size.

Right now looking at either the 13-inch, 3.1/16/1T or the 13-inch, 3.3/16/1T. But can't decide if the i7 is worth an additional £190. I don't do video editing and mostly use it for development. This is to replace my 2012 13" 16gb/2.9ghz i7 and want some that'll last for the next 4 years. 13 over 15 for portability.
