White stands out much more. Many people especially people that don't follow tech doesn't realize there is a white iPhone, they will think its higher in value and target that.

As someone living an "alternative lifestyle" (as my mom would say it), I could care less what color I get and how it does or doesn't reflect on my "masculinity". Plus I got a red Speck case and they go together well.......

White. I have a black 3GS and wanted something different.

It has a better retail value based off my viewing of eBay. So when I upgrade to the iPhone 5 next June/October, I will be able to get a few bucks more.

Not to mention, with Samsung making their phones look almost identical to iPhones, I didn't want to be confused with those POS devices as well.

Still probably going with a black Iphone though. It would match my laptop.
