I was pretty disappointed with the announcement of the series 3. Apple didn't do either of the two things that would've made me actually buy it ....1, thin it out (or make it a bit more stylish) and 2, really improve battery life. I would rarely be without my phone and don't feel the need to make a call from a device on my wrist.

So torn here on the aluminum sport (silver) and upgrading to the Stainless Steel.

Seems like a big dollar amount upgrade for a different material for the same functionality.

I do wear suits every single day and I am concerned the silver aluminum would look very cheap if you will and I honestly have never seen the silver aluminum and anyone owning them...its always the black sport.

Any feedback from someone that has owned both or vice versa??

You're going to get people who love the SS to say go stainless and you're going to get people who like the sport to go with that.

My opinion is that either one will look great, and why spend more money if you don't have too. The sport does all that the SS does, but for less money.

Going from S0 aluminium to S3 aluminium cellular, and just bought some AirPods to use with it (and a cable for £2.65 to hang round my neck!)
Going to preorder from Apple tomorrow and then sort out the connection with EE when it comes!

I wear a suit everyday and had these same thoughts before buying the original. I went with the space grey sport. I couldn't justify the price difference so just a difference casing. I will be getting the series 3 in same color. To me, it was all about the bands. When i wear a suit, i have a dressy black linked band or a brown leather one. For weekends, I have the sport bands.

Thank you for this feedback.

I honestly havent even considered the space gray sport as it seems as it vastly limits the band selections but it does look a little more premium than the silver sport that i have seen in store.

I can't seem to justify paying $200-$250 more for just a different material.

I would recommend searching this thread for the space grey sports owners thread. There is one where people posted pictures of their space grey watches and the bands they bought for it. They posted links and that is where I bought my bands.

May i ask why you are upgrading from the Series 2 to the 3? Is it for the LTE alone as i can't see any other main reasons when comparing the 2 to the 3 and also considering getting an Apple Refurb SS model as another option instead of the 3.

Just curious, thanks for your help today.

I have the original apple watch, not the series 2.

I was absolutely going to buy one, but I’m not buying now since the cell carriers are being greedy and charging an unfair price. It should have been $5.

I’m out.

EE in the uk are only charging £5 per month which isn't bad. I just called them to ask about the cost of a monthly plan on the white ceramic but they cant divulge any information until 8am uk time tomorrow morning

Bit annoyed they haven't released any price details other than the rumoured £5 a month. Won't know if it is officially £5 until I've pre-ordered.

You can always buy nicer bands to dress up the aluminum one if you're unable to justify the price difference.

Me, I like the SS because I like the sapphire crystal and I tend to bang my arm into doorways. My husband has had a Series 0 SS since launch in 2015. He loves his. Has not yet updated.

If you think you'll constantly want an update, go for the Sport. If you think you'll be waiting 2 or more years, go for the SS, as it will last.

Also, you could go for a SS Series 2 unless you're buying this for the LTE. Those are already being discounted and you could buy one for the price of a new Sport.

Yep thats true. I am going to order from the Apple store at 8am tomorrow and then call EE immediately afterwards. I can always cancel my Apple order if need be

Yeah I'll do the same but probs won't ring EE. I won't get a contract until later on cos I'm still with a network until that ends. I just hope they don't stop the 6 months of Apple Music - That'll save me £60 and is worth it.

I am currently on a sim only contract with O2 which has been running for three years so i can jump ship. Just got my PAC code so ready to rock tomorrow. I am still undecided about which watch to get though.

Yeah I'm on SIM only too, but my payment month isn't over yet (if that makes sense). PM me, we can talk!!

I'm going for a S3 42mm SG Sport non-LTE. I have my iPhone with me everywhere, even when I run so the added cost of the LTE version and $10 extra/month doesn't appeal to me.

Well, with the store down now I better make my decision quickly here and can't configure anymore to help!

Cellular all the way. Now I've just gotta decide between the black and silver SS.
