Interesting that as of when I post, the Ultra outnumbers all other responses. That says more about the readership than the usage, probably.

I'm still on an AW6.
Most of the people I know with Apple Watches have the SE but it doesn’t seem very popular among MR members.
I suppose it makes sense as I doubt those friends of mine would be posting on an Apple fan forum.

Thank you for your self-awareness. Some people still use Apple Watch 0.
That’s reminded me I still have mine. I haven’t worn it for a while so I just dug it out and it seems to be still taking a charge.

Wonderful. That's cool. A few years ago, a lady told me that she had one; AW became mainstream.

I have a Space Black Stainless Steel Series 3. I have held on to because I love the black finish which is now only available in overpriced Hermes Edition.

I just got a series 7 stainless steel today. I was going from a S4 to it, it’s my first stainless one though. Honestly I wasn’t upgrading at all but my series 4 had some very, very deep scratches in the glass and the deal I found for this one was too good to pass up. It was an open box one that only had the wrap off the watch. Even the band was sealed. It’s mint and I got it for $600 Canadian.

I would have been dumb to not get it.

Prior to that was a series 2 and a series 0.

SBSS will always have a soft spot in my heart. I'd say you should go for a Series 5 on the used market, I know there's one on the marketplace right now for a reasonable price. Otherwise you can fine them on eBay pretty commonly. Personally, I'm waiting for S7 Hermes watches to hit S5 Hermes prices to get SBSS back!

Yeah for sure, nice model! I have just the “generic” S7 and I’m more than content with it. I’d like to get S8 or Ultra for various reasons, including simply I enjoy the watch daily so why not have the best and latest model, however, the S7 meets my needs and wants adequately. Will upgrade next Oct. 2023 for sure at this point, but for now, I’m also content. Only a bit of jealous for the battery life of Ultra folks….

Truly impressive that some people still have and use the S0 model.

Gonna get a Series 8 for my first Apple Watch, trying to decide if I should go Aluminum/Ion-X or Stainless Steel/Sapphire, leaning towards the latter...

Also trying to decide between sticking with the stock (getting this watch from Verizon) Sport Band or getting a Braided Loop, either would be in Midnight; my biggest thing is I have a 200mm wrist, and I wonder how much "band" would be left on a M/L Sport Band...?

Apple Watch 6 44mm since release will stick with it until OS has no longer updates available. Wife upgraded from series 3 to series 8 last week significantly the series 8 is a worthwhile upgrade from a 3 but not that significant from a 6 for me personally .

Just upgraded from my Series 5 Space Gray Aluminum to a Series 7 Graphite Stainless (from Apple Refurb store) 2 weeks ago. I've worn my Apple Watch 24/7 for the last 3 years or so (was my daily driver, and I wear it to sleep for sleep tracking). My S5 was down to 78% battery health, and wasn't making it through the day anymore.

I got the battery replacement for my AW5 (basically like-new AW5!) and gifted it to a family member, and was happy to go with the SS model this time around. Getting the AW7 SS refurbished for a great deal as an official Apple refurb (US$549) helped me justify spending up a bit for it. Before the AW5, I had the AW2 (also aluminum).

So far loving it! The SS models really make the watch look a bit dressier, but still casual - a great hybrid watch that's versatile and works with almost any outfit / occasion!

WOW! I had no idea that that many (41%) are using the ULTRA!
It's obviously a sampling error. In the poll (as of 10/5/22 at 1400 EDT) Ultra outnumbers the next two most popular models (AW6 and AW7) combined. That is highly unlikely to be the real situation as the AW6 has two years to build up installed base and the AW7 has had one, whereas the Ultra has only been on the streets for a couple of weeks. I don't have Apple's sales data but I think it's safe to assume that does not reflect the overall market.

The overall market is not being polled here, just the handful of folks who go into this thread and actually vote...

I just upgraded from a SBSS Series 4 to the Ultra. The number one factor driving my upgrades is always the battery. I was barely getting to the end of the day without doing any workouts. I went for a combo jog/walk for an hour last week, and that took the battery from above 60% to completely dead before I even got home. Before that I had upgraded from the series 0. 4 years is clearly my limit on the standard watch. I'm hoping to get 6+ out of the Ultra

My wrist is 195mm and I use the second to last hole, tightening up one when I workout. I would think that you would be on the last hole but it would be just fine for you. I wear a size 11 in the braided loop if that helps.
