Wish I could change my original vote. I voted on this before prices were announced... Definitely going for the sport version now.

Almost bought that same model invicta, but I couldn't see using anything other than my Citizen Aqualand. It records your dives, depth etc. Love that watch for beach days and occasional squba diving. As for the AW sport, I think it's is the best one to get right now out of all the others. I was originally going for the Space black SS, but I don't care to much for the link bracelet. And since Apple doesn't sell it like the regular SS. Where u have the option to choose the band u want, was a deal breaker for me.

So I discide on the 42 mm SG sport and 38 sport for my wife. The SG Sport is identical to the Space black SS, so that made my decision to get the SG Sport easier. Another reason for my change of mind. This is the first gen, and I think apple has room for improvement here. Standalone GPS etc.

Also after watching the apple event with my cousin who is a machinnist. Took me to school on the 7000 series aluminun. That apple heat treated with magnesium and zinc. Assured me that this type of aluminum with anodized finish. Would be tough as steal and very scratch resistant. So I will be preordering at 12 am, going to ask Siri to setting my alarm.

I really wanted the SS space gray after i found out that was a option. But same thing I'm sure the 2nd gen will be better etc. And like i said I'm using my basically exactly as the name says "sport" etc. I usually like to wear my Invicta watches if i take the wife out for the night. But it will be interesting to see 3rd party bands to dress up the Sport. Im sure once i get used to the Apple watch ill want to wear it all the time etc.

AS for the aluminum "matte" color. I love matte black or gray. Hell i looked into how much to get my Hummer H3 wrapped in matte black professionally. Sadly it was like almost 3k lol. So you can 100% dress up the SG Sport with the right band, hell even if you just wore the black sport band. The right shoes & shirt will dictate how the watch displays itself. I think the Sport is a VERY versatile model.

Are there really fifty-two MacRumors Forum users who are going to buy the Apple Watch Edition? That seems awfully high to me.

I'm not one of the people who thinks that the Edition, or for that matter the Watch overall, is going to flop—far from it; given the gold version's insanely huge profit margin, I think Apple will clean up on that line even though they'll only sell a tiny number of them. But 8.4% of Watch sales going gold (which is the current rate on the above poll) seems overwhelmingly high.

Getting the Sport version with white band and will need to get a separate black band since they only offer it with the Space Grey which bugs the hell out of me. Hope the next version will have integrated GPS, then maybe I will get the Stainless Steel.

the size issue is really getting to me. i was all for the 38mm (guy - 175mm wrist)....but work people say "don't get the girl watch"...i know they have no idea, but it still it tough to get past...

I really don't want a huge box on my wrist that looks wrong. but i don't want a dainty watch either.

honesty, who gives a hoots butt what everyone else thinks. Get the watch that you want. If it fits good on your wrist and you like it, thats all that matters.

Yes sir, it is indeed very versatile model. And I can't wait to see what third party has to offer, the right band could turn the sport into a very formal wear for sure. Also the H3 rapped in matte black would be sick. My previous Toyota Supra was painted in matte black. 800hp beast. Sold it when my second daughter was born. But I will be getting another one later later on. But I must say I am enjoying Audi S4 though.

I can't believe I added another potential choice in the last hour. I decided to take another look at the 42mm models just in case my number one choice is severely backordered. My order or precedence is now:

1. SS Link ( and order sport in green)
2. BLACK Classic buckle. (it handles really big wrists and is nice)
3. SS with White Sport
4. SS with Black Sport

If Link is backordered I will wait a month and try it on in Berlin next month.
I really like how thick the black classic leather is so I just might keep that a while but add the green sport for the gym and decide on Link after Berlin.
If it get either sport band I will never get the green unless I find someone to trade later.

Black Classic is the one I added.

Which Band to buy?

Is it just me or are all the leather bands ugly, not what I expect from apple or for 699. The modern buckle I’m sure is for women but looks so much nicer than the leather loop bands they made for men.

Im going to end up choosing the 42MM Classic Black Leather, they didn’t manage to screw that one up. :) Either way I’m really excited for mine and can’t wait to start wearing it!

I plan to get the 42mm stainless steel watch with link band and a black sports band too. I want the link band for work, but the sports band for when I am active on the weekends.

A lot of people voted before the prices were announced. I originally voted for the stainless steel one, but have changed my mind to a Sport.

SS 42 w/ black Leather band.

I work on my laptop a lot and today I have to take my pebble watch off because I do not like the metal of the clasp rubbing against the case as I type. I hope the leather band will not have this problem.

I originally voted sport. I ended up getting the ss 42 mm with white sport band. Ordered at 3:02 am with 4.24-5.8 delivery estimate.

Apple store try on review (Plus you can also use any strap on Sport Model!)

I went to the Apple Store today and was able to try on a variety of bands with the Stainless Steel case and Aluminum case. It felt really good on my wrist. The 38mm was a bit too small for my wrist but the 42mm was perfect. Any who, if anyone is on the fence between the aluminum or stainless steel, I'd recommend Aluminum. The product isn't perfect and I noticed quite a few moments of stutter on the interactive demo. This is definitely first gen product but it's still an awesome watch. It's just not worth shelling out $200 extra for stainless steel. =================================================
ALSO I've been told by all of the Apple Employees that you can ONLY use sport bands with the sport watch. LIES. One Apple Employee there broke the rules and changed the rubber strap on the sport with the Milanese and it fit perfectly. Granted he will get in a lot of heat later as a bunch of the supervisors started giving him looks and their eyes were wide open to the fact he even changed the strap. One of them even whispered to his ear "You can't do that!"

I pre-ordered the SS version with the black leather magnetic band along with a 2m charging cable and a lime green sport band. Wondering how difficult it will be to change bands. Delivery, May 13-May 27.
