Safari 4 on the Mac, of course. Firefox 3.5 on non-Macs.

I've got Firefox on the Macs, too, but only fire it up to compare a website if I think there might be a Safari bug or far more likely, the website mangled their HTML in a way that isn't Safari-friendly (and their webmaster earns a really dirty look from me). :)

If you search the forums, you'll find dozens of threads on this topic. We don't need another one.

If you really don't like the thread, can't you just report it and move on, instead of flaming the OP?

Keeping to the thread, I use Firefox because of the lack of Safari Adblock on SL.

Point out one time I flamed the OP. I dare you!

I use Firefox mainly because there are many websites that still won't work with Safari 4.

1. eBay (kind of a big one there). You can't use the seller tools on eBay with Safari, they don't display correctly.

2. Exchange. I access Exchange for work from a webmail server. It will not display properly with Safari so I use Firefox for it.

Come to think of it, I could always just use Firefox under Windows 7 Boot Camp for those two things and use Safari 4 for everything else. It certainly is a speedy little devil.

I tend to jump around between Safari, Firefox, Opera & Camino; however, since v.4 I switched back to Safari and since installing SL have not even installed any of the other browsers.

If you are above the age of 15 then you need to act your age.
You don't know what you're talking about. I'm not in any way acting immature. I'm not the one attacking anyone. If you took the time to actually read the thread, you would see that I respectfully pointed out search options to the OP and even carefully explained my motives. None of my posts were directed at you. Mind your own business! (and I'm most likely at least double your age... if not triple)

Your opening sentence proves me right. If you can't contribute something to the thread then move on and stop wasting people's time.

If you'll notice, I'm only responding when someone attacks me. You stop attacking, I'll stop defending myself. If you want it to stop, get off my back!

There must be something wrong with my Safari then because Firefox is much faster on my MBP. I use it all the time now since discovering this.

I was a Firefox-lover until I moved to Mac. I now use Safari 4 only if I have to; my main browser on all OS' is Chrome.

On stability: it's a frigging web browser... what stability does it need? It hardly handles and data on your computer, it doesn't interface with your hardware, and it doesn't control ICBM silos... so what do you want? It browses the web.

I use Firefox as my main web browser i don't have any speed issues with it, it is instant, sometimes google chrome because i think it looks nice, but it has a bug when playing flash videos in fullscreen the top menu bar is above the flash video instead of behind like on firefox or safari.

Minefield normally, if it doesn't work in it, I'll use Webkit. Opera is always good for a backup.

Still using the Fox. Once they update that plugin for Safari that lets you save tabs I'll switch back.

For those bemoaning the lack of Adblock in Snow Leopard/Safari 4, why not just run Safari 4 in 32-bit mode? It takes about 10 seconds to make the change and you get Adblock back. I switched to 32-bit mode to get Adblock and MutliClutch back, and I haven't seen any difference in performance since running it in 32-bit mode. Switching to Firefox because you don't want to run Safari in 32-bit mode seems ironic to me since Firefox itself is a 32-bit app.

more like switch to firefox because it "just works". oh, the irony. :p

Firefox. I've got too many must-have extensions for it that I haven't been able to get for Safari, not to mention now that many addons for it are incompatible until updated.

It's a shame Safari is behind even basic Firefox when it comes to features like going to a website automatically without typing www, .com etc. in the address bar.

Has anyone else noticed Firefox 3.5.2 can sometimes become slow and jerky after loading a webpage? Usually happens on a single tab and is noticeable mostly when scrolling. Refreshing the page usually helps.

You could use safari adblock in 32bit mode. There isnt much difference in speed so its a sacrifice worth making for no ads

It doesn't work. I tried it too. When I install it it says everything is OK and even shows up in Safari's preferences but when I quit Safari, it has disappeared and not working.

Switched to Safari 4 from Firefox 3.5.2, because my Firefox config and Snow Leopard don't get along for some odd reason.

On my Mac, its safari, on my PC its FireFox. I've given up trying to use Safari on the PC. It frequently locks up, eats up all of my resources and is slow.
