I think the TPU will be fine but the sides are looking mighty slippery.

There’s definitely variation between them. I had issues with the navy sheaths as well.

What is it that’s off with the fit?

They don’t have a magnetic wallet. But I can say with the MagSafe upgrade my Apple wallet sits perfectly!!
