I'm on 9.1 beta 4 Samsung chip and battery lasts longer approx 20mins longer than my sisters tsmc chip she's on 9.0.2 we both have iPhone 6s.
.
Enjoy your 20 minutes of fame. If your sister updates to 9.1 beta 4 you will lose that 20 mins and lag behind her by 2 hours.

16 hours off charger.
3 and a half hours of reading and replying to chipgate chaos.
My Samsung

Yea mine was bad on 9.02 as well.

This is from today on beta 4. Imma just go another day off charger with my inferior Samsung chip xD

6S+?

Seems good so far :)

Big conspiracy news - Lirum app has been removed from the App Store!

Someone is trying to cover their tracks :(

Interestingly it's still available to download from the purchased tab, assuming you got it already, so it's not been pulled entirely. Could be the developer updating it, now it's getting all this attention?

6s plus, yea.

Probably pulling the free version after seeing how many people are ocd'ing over their chip brand. $$$$

Lol

I checked what I had (Samsung) and then deleted the app. Was talking to a colleague about this and when he tried to download it, we realised that it had disappeared.

Sure, but if you now go to updates in the App Store on your phone, and click in purchased at the top, you'll see it there - or at least I do. Like you I deleted it previously but have just downloaded it again now.

I tried to do that on mine, but it just went into a loop. I've just checked again and it's gone!

Also - Lirum isn't the only app that shows this info, I just realised. Try BMSSM or the paid version of System Status, they both show it too, probably others also. If Apple are trying to cover this up they'll have a lot of other apps to an.

I wonder if this is just different handling of heat throttling? Perhaps Samsung errs more on the side of performance and lets the chip run more "full-speed" where the TSMC dials back the power. Samsung has a history of favoring performance over battery life.

This whole debate would be framed differently if the headlines were "TSMC chips not running at full power when under load!"

This getting worse than VW if Apple really removed Lirum from AppStore...

No evidence of that and would have been pretty futile given that the same info is confirmed available in other apps (BMSSM is the free one I've found so far, I'm sure there are others).

Clearly this model info is freely available within iOS to any apps that want to use it, which doesn't suggest Apple want to hide it.

Dear users of Lirum Device Info,

We are aware of some serious issues or our Apps with the latest iOS models (iPhone 6S and iPad Air 2). Changes on the requirements for a new update to be approved are also delaying the development process (and our team is very small).
In face of such events, in 24 hours, we will take Lirum Device Info down from the App Store - until we can release a decent update. That will take a few months however - but then we promise an entire new user interface, faster updates when a new device model is released, and a lot of new features.

Until then, the app will continue to work on models equal or prior to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Best Regards,
Rogério Hirooka

Confirmed - Apple conspiracy!!

when everything is right and perfect, the chip is designed by apple. when something is wrong, the same chip is manufactured by samsung.

how about if there is something wrong in the design part (architecture+software), not in the manufacturing process itself?
