I chose the mini, gorgeous screen smaller form factor which increases its utility for me. I take it with me commuting and the smaller form factor makes it easier to use on the subway.

I also take it with me when I go out, it helps keeps my kids entertained at restaurants and the like :) The portability is a huge win for me.

The screen is great and reading on the mini is a pleasure :)

To me, the mini form factor is great but the experience is not different enough from my iPhone. I can accomplish many things on my iPhone. When I want a bigger screen, I want a significantly bigger screen. The mini is just too cramped for my tastes.

I went with the Mini. I had the iPad 2 for a while, and though I liked it, I didn't use it nearly as much as I figured I would. I'm using the Mini way more than I ever used the full-sized iPad. To me, it's the perfect size for a tablet. I don't think I'd go back to the full sized iPads now.

I have both and while the rMini is perfect for taking out, when I am home surfing the web is more comfortable on the Air with the larger screen and larger text. I love them both however.

I went from an iPad 3 to an iPad mini. Now, I am back to an iPad Air and I love it! Didn't realize how much I missed the larger screen. And, I love how light it is. Happy with my decision.

I went from a mini to a 4, to an air, to an rmini... the rmini just works best for me and now that it has a great display I don't see myself ever going back to the full size...

Used all kinds of iPads, also all of apple products, for me i use it at school, at outside reading magazines sometimes. Than sometimes games n stuff at home. I think still rMini is winner for me. Because you feel that it feels in your hand better while you carrying. But with carrying air worries me always, it seems more fragile and hard to handle n carry. Also don't worry about the colours of the screen you don't even gonna remember the colours are different after you buy the device. I remember it back when i get back to forum! :) ( also it's not so bad )
the only thing is be aware of screen's blue-yellow tinted stuff, instantly change it in store. ( i opened and activated the device in store with genius ) .
tablet means, portable, portable means in my terms, IN YOUR HAND, so go with rMini :) big screens are everywhere... don't need them for everything. Pay same price with air get 32 gbs also ;) sorry for messy writing :)

I agree. The rmini fits the hand perfectly and just taking the air out with me lately, its quite the adjustment getting used to it as its huge. It also does indeed feel fragile causeof the size.

I bought both.

I've used iPads since the very first one and I bought the first-generation iPad Mini last year when it became available. I found that both sizes have a place in my lifestyle and that it is particularly advantageous to now have one larger, one smaller, with equal capacity and similar specs as far as screen and such. My iPad Mini (retina) goes with me everywhere just as her predecessor did, and she also is the first choice for reading in bed or participating in forums while in bed. The iPad Air, though, is the first choice when viewing movies or TV shows and for being the companion when sitting outside on the deck in warm weather. She also works just fine in bed when the iPad Mini has run out of juice. They complement each other very nicely. So, yeah....I couldn't choose between them, I wound up with both and am very happy! (I realize that not everyone can do this, though.)

If I could choose only one, I think I would go for the iPad Air. It is lighter and easier to carry around than earlier generations were, and it has the larger screen which works well for just about every situation, including reading, watching videos, etc. Probably in the long run the user would get more bang for his or her buck.

Me and my friends played a drinking game. A shot for every time MissKitty had something derogation to say about atheist Air. Needless to say, we were blacked out in an alcoholic coma for weeks.

i sold my Rmini for ipad air 2 .... i find it too small for watching movies and youtube... but now i missed it because the size is just right for daily commuting ... planning to get ipad mini 2 again....

If you truly need to take your iPad out and about, use it on the go too, many find the mini is perfect.

I don't really have an "on the go," use for iPad, nor do I take it out of the home much.

Therefore, I much prefer the more immersive feel of the large screen. In fact, I think I would like it even bigger.

I have both. The rMini is in my hands right now. I use it 98% of the time. The iPad Air is great but too big to take with me. The rMini fits my back pocket so is ultra portable to me. Having the data model is a major plus for me as well. I take it everywhere.
I was bummed when it didn't get the Air's refresh this past fall. Here's to hoping it will happen this fall. If not, the current rMini is still going to stay as my main device.

I have both the rMini and the iPad Air 2. I do use the iPad Air 2 the most, but having the mini is great because I can take it with me when the Air too big. The rMini is high and fits in a jacket pocket so it works for me.

Both of mine are 128GB models and aside from movie or TV show downloads mirror each other so that when I do choose to use one over the other I am not compromising the content. One of the good things of having the apps on the device and the data in the Cloud.
