Leopard-esque dock or current iPhone dock?

that is sweet, did you use the tif files of the icons from the "show package contents"

I actually used the icons provided by "The General" (thanks General), and then made the Dock using Apples "Pages", tweaked it in Elements, and saved it as a png file. I want to mess around with pictured backgrounds, but Summerboard keeps tweaking the wallpaper brightness. Argh

They did the iPhone one different because having the mesh behind the four "main" icons helps seperate them from the other not as important apps.

Something tells me we're going to 'lose the mesh' after Leopard is released. It's too easy for them to do.

My Version of a 3D Leopard dock with the striking black background. It's my first mod, so thanks to all those who add helpful hints to the forum.[/QUOTE]

Nice!

Here's my version of the Leopard dock in case you were interested. I made it in Photoshop. :)

It will work with those icons you got from me. :D

And here's one if you want those icons on the iPod Touch dock. :)

Here's the PSD I've been working with. It has all of my themes and such in it:

If anything, I think we should have the option to choose one of the two because if they changed it to the (boring) Leopard dock look, I would be really bummed. The way it looks right now accents the hardware style of the phone and other Apple products. The Leopard dock just kind of floats in space and looks really cheesy. I will already have Leopard on my computer, so why would I want the exact same thing on my phone? Dull.

Hmm I wonder if this means the iPod touch ships with Leopard. It ships on the 28th so I wonder if that means we'll be getting the highly aniticapted upgrade of the iPhones to Leopard. That will be exciting since I think Apple's been saving the really big features for after the iPhone's are all on Leopard!

I prefer the iPod Touch dock ... Here, I made this for those of you who would want it:

I think it looks pretty close:

I attached the files for you.

How do I install that? If using Jailbreak what are the steps I should follow? I would truly appreciat it if someone could give me the heads up. Thanks in advance.

Erica Sadun (mad props) has written a utility called dock swap, along with with about 10 different images to change the dock(touch is included). You can dl it from install app. Painless.
