Sorry to impose on the thread, but i had a questions? I never understood why so many people prefer to have a email client thats right on the desktop. Like Mail or thunderbird and other programs that do the same thing. I guess it works great for those who have business or governments address that come with a POP address. I have a yahoo account and i just recently got an account with Gmail. Yahoo is the account that i use most often, and i actually have two accounts with them. One for business and the other for play. But the thing is that with Yahoo, to get POP access or services you have to pay extra. I think Gmail has free POP services. I guess i just never understood the benefits of having a mail program on your computer. Im guessing that might make things more secure and quicker in some respects. But either way internet access is still required. And i was also wondering if you have multiple email address can it bring emails from all three or just one. Again sorry if i imposed.
^^ Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I use Mail for all of my 6 mail accounts (of which I have webmail access to 4 or 5, that I know of), and having all of the mail in one place is very convenient. If I were to surf around the different webmail sites to check mail it would just take to long. Now Mail checks all the accounts at a regular interval... Also, when I'm sending mail I can choose which out going account to use.
I use Mail for my dot mac account and Entourage for my ISP mail.
I like the look and feel of Mail - but Entourage has more features and integrates Tasks and Calendar and I definitely prefer Entourage's Calendar to iCal.
