Yeah what ever happened to APP Clips? And are we now at the point with iOS where feature bloat is upon usApp Clips... I have yet to see the usefulness of them.
I think Apple needs to take a break from adding new features and do a Snow Leopard approach to the next iPhone OS version.Yeah what ever happened to APP Clips? And are we now at the point with iOS where feature bloat is upon us
I thought it was stupid as well until my Galaxy (Face unlock) I had would just unlock because I accidentally bumped it and the screen turned on and it scanned my face so my phone would be on and unlocked on my desk, so I actually grew to like the swipe to unlock on the iPhone it adds the extra layer of security to prevent accidentally unlocks (Especially how good Face ID is) but I would like to see them give us the option to have it go straight to the home screen after a successful unlock. The camera lock screen swipe gesture (or at the very least the button).
Do you actively use all features?Of course, everyone would remove features, he/she don't use. Wonder how iOS would look like, if Apple is removing every feature one single person isn't using? 😆
Shazamed a song recently, but didn't have the Shazam app installed.App Clips... I have yet to see the usefulness of them.
That is because Shazam's functionality is now fully baked-in into Siri's server backend.Shazamed a song recently, but didn't have the Shazam app installed.
Of course not. Why should I?Do you actively use all features?
What has that to do with app clips? That is because Shazam's functionality is now fully baked-in into Siri's server backend.
An app clip is a half-installed app. A "lite" version sort to speak. What you described doesn't require one. What has that to do with app clips?
So what's that?An app clip is a half-installed app. A "lite" version sort to speak. What you described doesn't require one.
So what's that?

I mean the left swipe to open the camera + the camera button on the lower right.I thought it was stupid as well until my Galaxy (Face unlock) I had would just unlock because I accidentally bumped it and the screen turned on and it scanned my face so my phone would be on and unlocked on my desk, so I actually grew to like the swipe to unlock on the iPhone it adds the extra layer of security to prevent accidentally unlocks (Especially how good Face ID is) but I would like to see them give us the option to have it go straight to the home screen after a successful unlock.
I shazamed via the control center, don't necessarily want to talk to my phone in public.Like I said, you don't need it.
"Hey Siri! What song is this?"
No need for the clip.
I felt the same way until I went out to a sit-down restaurant for the first time since the pandemic began and, after we got the ticket, was able to scan a QR code on my receipt which downloaded an App Clip that allowed me to pay and tip from my phone using Apple Pay. Neat stuff.App Clips... I have yet to see the usefulness of them.
Well, probably not all the time. But I, for example, do almost not use the camera on my iPhone or iPad for taking photos - do I want the camera features reduced? No. Might come in handy at some time.Do you actively use all features?
