Dude, I’m not trying to be rude or anything. All I’m saying is that your claims aren’t consistent with apple’s specifications for both phones and their own advertising. Your anecdotal evidence for the iPhone 8 Plus’ stereo speakers being “better” than the iPhone X contradicts what Apple says about their own phones. Even most YouTube videos that have done a speaker comparison of the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X say overall the iPhone X is louder and has more bass.

Yeah, in this case the X is clearly better sounding. Not just louder but louder and clear across a broader range of frequency. over the 8 Plus.

I'm sure not everyones ears are tuned the same way. Some people may have done damage to their hearing or have limited hearing in some other capacity. so every individual ear is different. but when you look at the science. looking at the 20-20k spectrum the X comes out on top.

The 8+ has a physically larger sound chamber. Same driver, larger “cabinet”.

The countless dB tests on YouTube between the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X’s speaker typically put the iPhone X at an advantage over the 8 plus’ speaker in loudness and more bass. All that aside, Apple says both phones are at the very least 25% louder and have deeper bass than the previous gen of iPhones. So, having a larger “cabinet” in the 8 plus seems moot at this point.

This is what i was gonna say. I have both and definately 8+ sounds richer. But i like x better everything else. X is not bad as long as apple fix the crackling noise in high volume.

Cool judge it on YouTube....
I have both. The 8 plus is clearly louder, more bassy and covers treble sounds a lot better.

You must mean ridiculous volumes cause I have no crackling at high volume. Maybe it’s just a particular app?

What's interesting, is the majority of iPhone users I know, never have Max their volume for anything on their iPhone. So they wouldn't know if they have crackling or not on the iPhone, because the volume would never be completely maxed out. For some, the crackling is likely a non-issue and/or not noticed. But for others, it is. I think it's dependent on how someone is using their phone to ultimately hear the crackling.

Cool, judge it using your ears, which is apparently more reliable than a dB test and disregard what Apple says about their own products...

X is louder than 7-8plus

X is clearer than 7-8plus

X sounds better than 7-8plus

Sorry to those that were saying otherwise!

Have an X and an 8 Plus. X is absolutely clearer than the 8+. Not substantially louder, but definitely sounds better.

But you don’t have both...
dB means squat if it’s distorted

Clearly my point was lost. I was just using your own anecdotal evidence against you in the same way you used it against me to back up your claims to show how it means very little. Your ears or how YOU hear one speaker over the other doesn’t change the fact what Apple has said about their own devices. The only way your device would function differently than the way they designed it is if your device is defective. Subjective evidence does not trump the objective evidence in this case like you’re making it out to be. I'm not even arguing which phone sounds better, all I am arguing for is that they are the same. It would be strange for apple to include inferior speakers in the iphone X over the 8/8plus phones as well. The iphone X is their flagship device afterall. Also, I don't know if you're telling the truth about having both phones. It goes both ways...

I have an X and had an 8+, the X sounds better TO ME. That's all that counts TO ME. Another X vs 8 (Sorry I didn't wait) thread...see how I rhymed there?

Assuming the 7 Plus and 8 Plus have the same speakers, the X has louder speakers. Off and on I'll have my iPhone 7 Plus on speaker with others. Last week I had my X on speaker with others and everyone said it was "too loud". First time anyone has said this and we've used my iPhone 7 Plus on max volume during speaker many times.

My ear test says the X is considerably louder at max versus the 7 Plus.

anyone who says the 8 speaker is better or even near the X speaker is out of their mind.
Anybody who says it probably doesn’t

It’s not even close. To the point that anybody who claims otherwise is most likely just a bitter 8 Plus owner who couldn’t get the X. If it was close I’d understand the comparison. Honestly the difference is like night and day. I find the 8 Plus only slightly better than the 7 Plus and the X blows them both out of the water.
