Unfortunately neither but I might get my wife a mini 2 around Christmas. Not very impressed with either one.

Lol please tell me how you could not be impressed with the new mini? They literally improved every single thing about it except for a redesign (which imo it already has a great design)

iPad Air 64GB ATT&T cellular Space Grey
However, I might go for the 128GB. Apple charges $100 for each doubling of memory. Adding 64GB for $100 is not a terrible deal.

I don't use the cellular data much around the house but when I travel I use it a lot. It only costs us $10 a month to add the iPad to the family plan so it is pretty cheap. It is great to ride in a car as a passenger and use Apple maps.

Touch ID would have been nice but is not a deal breaker. I'll have to try one out. I'm hoping the digitizer has better resolution.

The pictures show dual speaker vents but the specs do not call out stereo.

Yeah they improved it and raised the price. First time that ever happened to an iPad , so no that's not impressive.

I'll be getting a white iPad mini with retina, 16GB, wifi, and probably a smart case. But I do wish they'd make it available sooner, or at least provide an actual release date.

It depends on if you care about that or not. I personally don't. I would buy the iPad Air if I wanted it. But I don't want a massive iPad like that. Money isn't an issue for everyone, so that is your opinion. I'm wondering about the person I quoted though ;) cus he seems like a regular guy

You know what, if they had pre-orders live right after the event, I would have got a 128gb Air and 64gb Mini both Cellular. I'm a sucker right after an event.

But given until the 1st of November to think, I will have plenty of time for the Apple drunkenness to fade.:D

I will probably just get the Mini Retina in a 32gb Just not a big enough change for me to ditch my current iPad, I know thinner, lighter, faster, but I have no issues with mine, if the new iPad had TouchID and a better camera I would be all over it. Also I REALLY think we are getting a 12-13" pro model sooner than later.

But Apple could have had me if they did fast pre-orders!

Probably neither. They would have had me if this one had touch ID, but since it doesn't, that's a huge reason to wait until the next revision.

I have a mini, and really wanted mini retina, but it's thicker so I can't use my existing cases, and its got no touch ID (which the next rev will have for sure).

Oh well, lease the iOS update and all the apps are exciting today!

I chatted with apple today and the cases from the first gen mini are compatible with the retina mini.

Neither right now. My Mini is fine for now, and eventually I'll probably upgrade to a *full size* 32 GB iPad.

I have been without an iPad since April when i sold my third generation. I have always been tempted to get a Mini and now I am given that the iPad mini comes with a

1) Retina Display

2) 128GB of storage

3) And the same A7 processor found in its bigger brother.

However one quick question would there be any differences between the Air/Mini i.e. Memory? I am settled on getting a mini either way now comes another painful wait. Much like my iMac on order its been 3 weeks and there is still no sign of it.

I'll have to demo the iPad Air before I decide. I always liked the iPad mini more because of it's light weight and form factor. Now that the Air is .4 lbs lighter, and has the thinner bezel, I might change my mind. But I might also pick the mini because it has the upgraded hardware, and remains $100 cheaper.

I'm having a very hard time deciding. When I use my current mini, my beefy paws cause unwanted keystrokes. This problem seems like it will also be present in the air, since the bezels look similar. My only hope is that the larger width of the air will spread my hands out a bit more and keep my fat palms and thumbs from hitting the keyboard.

That aside, it's a tough choice. Similar internals, different form factor. I love the size of the mini. And with a retina screen? Sounds like a winner all around. But the air has the big screen with a new form. Could be the perfect combo.

I fear that I will miss out on the first batch of either because before I can make this decision, I will need to hold them in my hands. Not something I have had to do in the past. Usually I know what I want and I order it.

I won't get it right now but later this year or sometime next year I'll look into getting the retina mini. Likely the 32gb. But I'm also intrigued with what's going on in the windows 8 space right now. I like what I see and what I want is a productivity device.

Love my iPad 2 but daughter needs an iPad and I need more than 32 GB, so going with Air 64 or 128 and she gets the 2.

I was waiting for the new mini but seeing the price bump and increase in weight has made me reconsider the full size iPad now.
Considering there's only now an £80 price diff between the two(Air and retina mini) for the 64GB I think the air is a winner.
Will just need to compare the 2 side by side, I love my mini now as it's the perfect size
