I'm currently using an Air, and I ordered a Mini LTE, unfortunately it's still being processed. I originally had no intentions of buying an Air, however due to Gamutgate, I felt that I needed to order both to determine which model is best suited for my personal and professional uses.

I am hoping there are screen variations between wifi and LTE models, and the LTE models coming out of China are better, as my heart was really set on getting the Mini, but poor screen is a deal breaker for me.

I bought the ipad Air and the rMini. I really like both devices but the rMini is going back. I figured that the Mini would be great to read on now that it has retina but I find I still have to do a lot of zooming and it's annoying the heck out of me. As far as the rMini's color gamut, I don't give a crap. Looks perfectly fine to me.

same here

iPad 3 with iOS 5.1. It is still as fast as the day I got it. I only use it for light reading and videos, this could keep me going for at least 2 more years. The big chunky battery is now looking like a good idea because the iPad keeps going for 8+ hours even after 1.5 years of battery cycles.

32gb LTE Air

Was sure I would go with a retina mini to upgrade my iPad 2 but after the announcement I was on the fence. Totally happy with the decision to get the air.

Love my iPad 2. I was considering an upgrade but my iPad is in very good condition. I also have 3G on it which I barely use and if I were to upgrade I would not buy the 3G. And I bet I would regret it.

Well, since this thread has been revived, I'll update to say that I am now rocking both the iPad Air and the iPad Mini with Retina...... My earlier iPads have gone to new homes and I'm more than happy with the two newest members of my little Apple family. I use each of them daily, for different purposes and find them both to be a delight.

Just got a retina Mini a couple of days ago and I love it. I had an iPad 2 a few years ago and sold it because I just found it to be too big. I bought my mother a mini for Christmas and when I was setting it up for her I liked it so much I bought one for myself. Just love the form factor of the mini, it's perfect for my uses.

I have the Air now. We upgraded from a 4 and a 3. I'm still getting used to the feel of the screen though.

We have an Air and an rmini, replacing an iPad 3 and mini 1st gen. Love them both, but slightly prefer the Air.

What different purposes?

What different purposes?

I talked about this in another thread, but I'll reiterate here....

The iPad Mini is the one which goes with me when I leave the house. It is also the one which I use most often in bed for catching up on forums, email, the news, the weather, etc. Fun for playing games, too. It's great first thing in the morning to get out of bed, turn up the heat, grab the iPad Mini and jump back into bed for a while!

The iPad Air is the one which I use most often around the house in general and outside on my deck in warmer weather. It's also the go-to iPad for watching movies and episodes of TV shows. It also, of course, does all of the same stuff that the iPad Mini does. When I'm at the computer the iPad Air is on the workstation, too, and if I want to check a fact on Wikipedia, read an email that has just come in without interrupting what I'm doing on the computer, or do other quick tasks, it's the one which handles these. If the iPad Mini is on the charger and I'm going out, the iPad Air (which is so much lighter than its predecessors!) goes with me. I have both devices set up pretty much identically so that it doesn't matter which one I pick up to use, both will be able to do what I want and need. They complement each other beautifully.

I got the rMINI 16GB LTE but exchanged it today for the 32GB since it took up a lot of space but while I was there I looked at the air and it's nice and has a big screen so now I don't know what todo
