Honestly I would either get a refurb air 2 or get the mini 2 . The mini 3 is $100 more just for Touch ID

Personally I prefer the larger iPads and the air 2 is great . The 2gb of ram and 3 core cpu should make this last a long time

It will last only as long as Apple wants it to last.

Don't know what you guys are doing, but my mini is not sluggish.

Mine definitely is. Loading apps like Facebook and Adobe Ideas and sometimes even Mail takes a solid 15-25 seconds of just blank screen, double tapping home to switch between apps always drops a few frames, and everything just in general takes a lot longer to load than my iPhone 5. It's a noticeably subpar experience and reminds me of android devices. Also, the resolution is awful, especially since I'm spoiled by the retina screens on my phone and laptop.

Strange. I don't use facebook or adobe ideas, but Lightroom mobile and mail apps do definitely not take 15seconds to load.
Maybe 5 seconds at the maximum and I don't perceive that as much loading time. Everything else is responsive and snappy as when I first got it.
People here still buy iPad mini 1s like hot cakes.

I guess it depends on what you do with it though ...

I'd say mini 2 or 3. air is oversized

Hello all,
I am seriously considering upgrading my Mini 1 since I find myself using it quite a bit, and it is getting quite sluggish.
So if I decide to not get the Apple Watch, I'll get a new iPad, and I am leaning towards just upgrading the iPad.
Which one should I get? Should I get the mini 3, 64gb, a refurb 64gb iPad Air, or wait a few months until the Air 2 refurbs come out?

the mini 3 is beast.

since I already have the big 13" screen of my MacBook Air, do I need the bigger screen if the iPad Air 2? Should I just go with the iPad mini instead, as it is more in between my MBA and 5s?

The Air 2 isn't very useful when you have a Macbook Air. Too close in size in my opinion and it's not like the MBA is heavy. For your case the Mini 2 is the better option as far as size variation amongst your devices. Added bonus is that it's cheaper too.

I'm debating as well. I have a 15' macbook pro and an iphone 6. The difference for me is the apple bookstore for the university here has an ipad mini 2 on sale for $239.
