When I purchased my first iPad, I thought I should get "the best" and that I would really use A) 64GB of space and B) 4G LTE. Months later, I haven't activated the 4G and I'm still well under 16GB...

It all depends on how you use it, and what you'll use. On my current Android phone, I've found I only need a few key apps to suit my lifestyle, and those don't take up a load of space. I also store most of my information in the cloud via Skydrive... maybe you use Google Drive, or Dropbox. Again, less on-device storage. I don't snap a ton of photos... and any I do take, I would likely move off the phone and into the cloud...

Given this:
  • 16 GB: base
  • 32 GB: +$100 for 16 more GB
  • 64 GB: +$100 for 32 more GB
The 32 GB is the worst GB/$ ratio. I always go with either 16 or 64 but never 32.

Regardless of whether you need the space now, and provided you have the money, go with 64. Peace of mind is worth money to me. Resale value is not any worse than the 16, proportionally (from experience with an iPad 3 sold just recently).
