You have to go to field test mode by entering *3001#12345#* and go to Versions, there you will see an LCD Panel ID.

I don't know who makes the two LCD panels, but one starts with a 7 and one with a 5.

Mine is, 7455232.

List yours and vote on which you have.

I had a version 5 panel and found it to be way more crisp and even before I had to exchange out my iPhone.

7 series have the dots. My loaner will be here tomorrow, and I ship my 7 series out tomorrow as well, once I restore it to hide the hack I did. :p

You can find pics and a video of the white dots in the troubleshooting section. Theres a huge thread about it.

I think I'll wait a few weeks to exchange my 7-series for a new iPhone (mostly because I'm irked that I'll have to pay $30 to stay connected), but the dots are pretty annoying when you're trying to watch a movie. I hear the black level on the 5-series screens seems to be better as well, so...
 
I have a 7, but see no dots, and I think it looks pretty darn crisp

crisp.... makes me want potato chips....
 
I bought my phone on launch day, it's a 7, and it does have a faint grid of dots that show up on blacks.
 
I have the checkered screen, and I have a 7 series...

Does anyone have a 7, and not have the checkered screen?
 
I think some of you are looking to closely. I have a 7 and I see the pattern you are talking about but only when my face is 6 inches from the screen. Im not sure why apple is replacing this.

Only difference I see from that pic is that the 5* is a bit brighter... I would like to see what these dots and checkerboard problems look like...
