It was to bulky for me, nearly doubling the weight. Difficult to remove completely.
But my main issue was - with little pressure it was rubbing on the ipad pro screen.
Leaving marks on my display.
Thought they were scratches but could remove them with a microfiber and patience.
It seems to be a common issue, scratches on the back - or worse, on the screen.

Typing however was good. But thats about all I liked about it.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I did pre-order Apple's keyboard case, with the iPad Pro 9.7 and Pencil, but I've cancelled the keyboard case now. I'm not sure if I'm going to use it enough to justify the £129 price.

I got the iPad first but ended up getting the Apple Smart Keyboard (big discount as an open box deal from Best Buy for $145.00). I use the keyboard all the time. I've had keyboard cases with older iPads and they were so bulky I never took them with me and never used them. However this case is the exception - It's so thin I keep it on my iPad all the time. I now use my iPad Pro more than my laptop. Definitely give the ASK a try - you have two weeks to return it.

I love the Apple Pencil too - I use that for note taking but admittedly I don't take as many notes. However it's still nice to have....

I did a lot of research looking between the Logitech Create Case and the Apple Smart Keyboard case and finally decided I really didn't want the extra bulk the Logitech case would create - however my co-worker loves his Create case. It's just a matter of personal taste. I paid 10 bucks for an ESR case from Amazon to Cover the back.

Cheers,
Bobbie

I will end up getting one I'm sure. I'm going to try and use the iPad Pro 9.7 for work, rather than taking a note pad and pen into meetings etc.

The pencil turned up on Saturday. Which I must say does look and feel great. I just need to wait until Thursday now for the iPad Pro 9.7 to turn up.

My sentiments exactly. I also have the Slim Book (admittedly, not the best choice in name considering its heft) but it hit all of my needs. When docked, it resembles a MBP--my wife reached for the trackpad before realizing it was my iPP. ;) Yes, the keyboard portion is heavy but that heft affords a rock solid typing experience---infinitely adjustable viewing angles, full set of function keys, adjustable backlighting (color and brightness), pairing with multiple BT devices (I have mine set up for my phone and Apple TV as well) and ridiculous battery life. I'd have loved it to use the smart connector as well but it connects via BT before the iPP is fully open and has no noticeable lag.

And like Max mentioned, the iPP pops out in an instant. I also love flipping it around so that the keyboard serves as a stand, again offering whatever viewing angle you prefer.

If portability is of utmost priority, I think you won't find better than the ASK but you'll also be losing so much functionality.

I tried the ASK and I did like it. After reading these posts I decided to try the Slim Book as I was looking for more use options. After a couple of days I am thoroughly enjoying the Slim Book. Does it add significant weight to the tablet...yes. In my case, the extra weight does not bother me. Having the ability to "pop out" the iPP while leaving the keyboard, along with multiple viewing angles was the deal breaker for me. The function keys (volume, home button, etc.) along with the back-lit keys and the ability to pair and switch between 3 devices are all bonuses.

So I've backtracked a little - I went to the local Apple Store where they had the Red Logitech Create case and purchased it. It's not as bulky as I thought it would be ....to be honest it doesn't feel anymore bulky than my ASK and ESR back cover. I like the keyboard - easier to type on. I'm going to keep the ASK - I got a great deal on it so I have options but so far I'm loving the Logitech case....now I have a choice on case to carry.

Cheers,
Bobbie
