I'm getting excited now. I'll probably stay up to order at 3AM Eastern on Friday. Plus I'm 50/50 on the Apple Watch right now. I just want the rMB as soon as possible, so getting my BTO order in ASAP will help with that. I'd like to receive it by the 17th, but I guess it might not come until the 20th or 21st.
 
If only they went with BLACK. Once you go black, you never go back. Still got a black Macbook with a big ole crack in the screen.

I'll go with space gray because it's as close to black as I can get.

BTW, I'm caucasian.
 
Definitely not the tacky gold and silver is overplayed. Have to see how grey looks in real life.

I wouldn't call it tacky. Both my wife and Daughter find the Gold to be a very feminine look with a hint of champaign / rose and it is going to cost be big time!

I'm so excited about gold. When I got my iPhones, I got one gold and one silver. The silver one is so common, but the gold is very unique. I thought I wouldn't like it, but it's really grown on me. I'm going to get a gold Macbook because you see gray and silver laptops all the time. Gold is interesting and different.

Yeah. I was hesitant, but then I flipped through the pictures and it's a nice darkish gold, and seems a nice compliment with the black keys and black screen\bezel"

Yeah, I was tempted, it seems like it will be very good looking. The thing that keeps me with silver is that I really don't want to be popping a gold one open in meetings. Some people will just figure it's bling, a few people might wonder if they're paying me too much...and I like the basic natural aluminum look anyway.

Yeah, that was my thought too, but people said that about the iPhone and iPad, and I think it people have come to realize Apple products now come in 3 colors. Plus, I think the gold is an understated tone. It's not like gold-bar gold, it seems like the iPhone where it's more of a champagne color. But won't know till I see it in person. I plan on buying gold, and if it's too over the top, I'll change it for one of the other options.

Agree on eyeballing it in person. Who knows what might come home with me? :confused: :p

Looks more like hepatitis yellow than gold to me.

Apple should do a rose gold option like this.

One thing I find comforting about silver is with the MBP/rMBP, I really have to ogle to figure out what exactly I'm seeing. :cool:

I do like the color contrast of the gold with the black screen bezel and black keys. I'm still going space gray, though.
 
Don't know why but the gold in the pictures of the macbook look pretty good. More like a copper. I hate gold on the phone and iPad.
 
If delivery time is any indication then it look's like Gold was indeed the most popular color! Just like the iphone's I'm sure there extremely popular in Asia.
 
Definitely going with silver now that everybody's jumping ship to space gray.

As for gold, meh, it's for Persians.
 
I originally got the space gray 512/1.3... Went to the apple store today and saw the models and had a huuuuge first world problem moment.. Canceled my order and got the gold 512/1.3. It really is a champagne gold and I'll have a case on it anyways. The gray looks really sleek and professional but the gold just pops out to me.

That being said, I have the silver iPhone because I'm a bit tired of the white and gold contrast on the phone.

I had the same impression about the web pictures of the Gold MacBook when it was first announced. But it looked too feminine and attention grabbing :eek:imho when I saw the gold MB in person at the Irvine Spectrum Apple Store. I immediately cancelled my order and bought a space gray 1.1/256 model instead. It states "delivers Apr 20-22", and I am excited to play with it soon.
 
I would have never guessed that this poll would look the way it does, I can't believe I am in the 8th percentile of color preference. I guess people really were tired of the silver. Seeing as I am transitioning from the white macbook, I have yet to have the chance for the silver's magic to wear off.
