I'd go for gold for sure. I'd buy gold in the iPhone if it didn't have the white front. I hate that.
I won't buy it but Space Grey is definitely best. I would like a darker one though, like the old MacBooks.

Gold should be popular with the ladies and Chinese. Gold like yellow is a lucky color in China. When apple first released the gold iPhone there were many asians waiting in lines at every apple store in NYC just for gold ones when apple showed stock online. I'm not being racist just a cultural observer. I think I'm going to get a gold one myself.

For me, it's not about matching everything. I just always get black/space gray and have never considered silver or gold.
That's a LOT of gold to be flashing at people in meetings.
I haven't had the best luck with either slate gray or space gray iOS devices (and I treat my electronics very carefully). With the disclaimer that the whole topic is YMMV, I like the silver because it will just telegraph "another MacBook" to people and I suspect it'll show wear least.
I am definitely going for the gold! I love it better than the iOS gold devices!! It so sexy and would love to get the gold and white beats wireless headphones, after I see the reviews on them.
Probably that. Apple said it would start shipping on the 10th, so if it's not available in stores on the 10th then your best bet is to order online and get it on Monday/Tuesday.
Was there a thread about how these Friday orders would probably not ship until some time the following week? I could be mis-remembering.
Yes. We were talking about BTO orders. Macs are usually released earlier in the week, like on a Tuesday...which allows BTO orders to be shipped by Friday. But with the rMB being released on a Friday, people doing BTO like myself probably won't see it ship until next Tuesday.
But regular orders should have no problem shipping out on Friday.
I want to try one and I had hoped to just go to the A store Friday. I am leaving for a business trip Monday for a week so I can't get home delivery. Has anyone talked to Apple store personnel about having stock this week?
Nobody knows right now. I think you'll get a clear answer on Friday, once Apple actually puts it up for purchase online. By then we should know when it'll be available in stores. I would guess after the weekend is when that will happen.
