Which Macbook? - Ghz difference

A larger hard drive would also be worth considering if you're going to be storing a lot of music and photos, the higher GHz model comes with a bigger drive but this is something you can upgrade yourself easily in a matter of minutes.

Well said; never get Apple to upgrade your hard drive or memory as you can do the same yourself for much less.

Okay, thanks a lot everyone.

Can someone send me a link to the exact ram i will need? thank you.

And what about extra harddrive space? can i buy that? ;s

To tell you the truth, getting 4GB of RAM isn't worth it. The CPU I think is more important because of the new multi-threaded application coming out for computers.

EDIT: Oh, I only run like maybe 2 programs at once, but that's just me.

IMO what you should do is spend your extra money on a fast 7200rpm, in an external enclosure, and swap the drives. That way you will have a really fast drive in your MB and a second drive you can use for backups.

Here's where to get RAM from Crucial.

And you can definitely buy a replacement hard drive. Personally, I would recommend the WD Scorpio (320GB and 7200rpm), but you can find other drives that are cheaper with different capacities or speeds if you feel like you don't need this. However, you are going to need an enclosure. You can create a bootable copy using SuperDuper and then switch hard drives.
If you don't feel like doing this, or simply want extra storage and don't care whether or not it's part of the Macbook, you could just buy an external hard drive as well.

Listen, it's stupid to waste money on more RAM if your CPU can't even handle you running all these applications. If you use it for music, word processing and Internet 2GB of RAM works just fine. It's the CPU that also helps you handle two or more application cause of the speed. And dualcore. So... I got the 2.4ghz one last week and it's great. Only 160gb hdd is actually like 150. They all lie about what the actual size is. Only thing I'd upgrade is the hdd to like 200 cause I use my external as my time machine now. Or I'll get another external for my movie. Cause I got an apple tv. anyways hope this helps.
