@Palm Pre: I don't see HTC being bought out in a few years. Palm was never a very strong company. I think if anything, we will see Sprint sell it's cell phone service before the HTC EVO flops.

Well yes you would have to put it on a stack of books or something, but I would prefer that over the kickstand
The kickstand is going to have two major problems that won't be evident until it's out in the wild

1. No matter how strong/reinforced/whatever I promise you people are going to find a way to accidentally break it off
2. Finding a decent looking case that is also functional with the kickstand wil be a nightmare, seeing as how the kickstand is not on an edge

Dude that would be stacking a lot of books. I'm sure you would get some funny looks with 20 or so books stacked up so you can cam chat. :p
 
The new iPhone looks so slick and expensive I'd feel a little bad every time I put in my pocket. That's quality.

Well i mean like, a couple books on a high table or something

I mainly meant for putting it slightly far away but it still stands up, though for video calls that would affect the mic

but something like making a video with yourself in it/ maybe taking a picture w/timer, you can't do any of that if the phone is curve, unless of course, it has a crazy, probably terrible kickstand ^.^
 
The iPhone 4G does look nice! I will say that. Looks clean and modern now. I liked the 3G/3GS but the design is showing it's age now.
 
I would bet that those who chose the new Iphone would've picked the EVO if the Iphone didn't have the Apple logo. They would probably say it's some cheap China iPhone wanna be.

BTW, isn't the new iPhone is narrower than the Incredible?

I was going to say, I bet people would've chosen the EVO if that phone got rid of the four buttons below and just made one physical home button in the middle and called it an iphone. :p

If you replaced " HTC SPRINT " on the face of the EVO with " Apple iPhone4G " people would be all over it right now. To me the EVO looks a heck of a lot more futuristic than the prototype Iphone. The EVO looks like what the new Iphone should have looked like... minus the buttons at the bottom.

Having said that, bad looks wouldn't stop me from buying either. With the exception of the incredible, all the new HTC phones look quite nice especially the Legend.

I think there's such a loss of design taste in hi tech products... I mean... we are talking about mobile phones... but does really someone think something like this look great?

I can't stand the back of it. I think it looks funky imo. Outside of that, as this is not supposed to count in this thread, but it felt cheap in my hands.

Something I really like though is the IR trackball type thingy do at the bottom. That's just cool......Well till it gets filled with lint from my pocket.

Agreed. I looked at it in person the other day and was surprised by how narrow it looked and felt. Not sure how it effects the daily use though.

I voted for the EVO.
 
I think the HTC Evo looks like an iPhone knock-off and the Incredible looks like something I scooped out of my cat's litterbox.:D

A lot of people talk crap about the way the new iPhone looks, but I like the design.

Actually I would say the new iPhone looks like a chinese knock off of a real iphone.
