Went with the 12 pro. Had the max and plus sized phones for years. Just wanted something easier to hold and fit in my pocket.

I bought the 12 Pro Max on launch day because Ive always bought the Plus/Max sized iPhones since they started with the 6 Plus, for the best cameras. Turns out the 11 pro Max was my max size (pun intended). The 12 is far too big, heavy and awkward. Sold it and first bought an SE 2020 on an incredible deal for $49, but ended up selling it for the 12 Mini which I love. My favorite iPhone yet.

What did you not like about the Max?

How do you like it compared to the Max size phones? Are you happy with it?
Too big. I can’t change songs while driving was a big factor for me. With the xs max I could change songs one handed. Not the 12 max. I know it’s .02 inches bigger than my xs max but it seems bigger. Then when I tried the mini it just made sense to get it. Plus there were camera issues that I wasn’t pleased with after spending full price for the phone, I expected more.

SE, for the size (easy to one-hand) and the price. Couldn't consider anything more expensive in a year where our entire industry is shut down. Only got one because the old SE - small version - had a broken screen and a dying battery.

Bought 11 Pro Max 256GB Midnight Green in early March last year after my precious Xs Max was stolen from me.

Absolutely loving the 11 Pro Max, the speed, battery life and camera have all been phenomenal to the point where I am happy to stick it out with it possibly another year or 2 until something worth upgrading arrives.

Looking at things like battery tests I see the 11 Pro Max is still among the best, it really set the bar and I hope the next iPhone I get will take the bar higher, the 12 range seems to be about the same if not a slight regression. The camera in the 12 Pro Max is something to behold though, I think Apple have set themselves up for the next couple of generations of iPhone with that new large sensor.

I will probably jump on the 14 Pro Max if it shows a true jump (Xs Max to 11 Pro Max type jump) in Battery Life, Screen (120hz ProMotion) and hopefully both TouchID and FaceID on it.

Love the 12 generation design, it looks great, more sophisticated and svelte, I hope they keep this design and make it more ergonomic, I’m sure by the 14 range they will have refined this design to a fine art like they did with the X design in the 11 series.

I bought the 11 Pro last spring and sold it at the end of summer. Nice camera, otherwise too big and heavy (I have large male hands, that’s not the issue). Fortunately I still had my 2016 SE to fall back on. Best iPhone ever.

Last fall I decided to try an Apple Watch, got the new SE wifi, and I think it’s nearly good enough to replace a smartphone entirely for me if a cellular version did not require an iPhone at times.

For mobile, I only need to be notified of things and be able to shoot off short emails, texts, and I still require normal telephone call functionality. I don’t need a phablet, though I do love the always-with-me cameras they have nowadays.

I use my iPad mini 5 for nearly everything else.
