I'm right handed, so..
If I'm working for my boyfriend's mom, my iPhone will always be in my left back pocket & my iPod will always be in my right back pocket...I usually grab my iPod more. If I'm working at the hospital, my iPhone is in my left front scrub shirt pocket & my pens & money are in my right front shirt scrub pocket only because it's easier to grab them. My phone and iPod are always facing towards my skin. Other than that, it'll be in my right hand or in my purse. :)

Front right pocket always. Screen inward and speaker-side up.

First day I got my iPhone 4, (I have 4S now) it was in my pocket and as I sat down to eat dinner it slipped from my pocket onto the floor, no case. Luckily it survived..

Front pocket. Only one horror story- was wearing basketball shorts (very shallow and loose pockets) and while running out to my car (and going down a hill) my iP4 slipped out of my pocket and the screen shattered.

In a pouch in the purse if I'm out of the house. Front right pocket, no pouch, if I'm in the house and on the move. On one of three stands (desk, end table, nightstand) if I'm stationary.

(and right handed)

Front right pocket, phone in there by itself.

Question for you back pocketers: Why the back pocket? What about when sitting on something made of hard material such as a bench at a bus stop, a brick wall low enough to sit on, or a concrete bench?

Same question for wallets in your back pocket, it makes your butt uneven when sitting, how does one stand that? ;)

Girls don't need iPhones

I usually carry my phone in my purse but with the iPhone I need it to be more accessible. But I'm scared about which pocket to use because front pockets sometimes have coins or keys and back pockets may result in a pickpocket or accidentally sitting on it (I'm >100lb) ;).

So im curious what people do and if there are any horror stories about carrying it the "wrong way".

Seriously, all girls need are a cricket phone that is $5 a month. No need to waste money. Also, get off the forums and go make me a sandwich.

Front left pocket and nothing else ever goes in that pocket. Wallet and keys in front right. I have CDO, which is like OCD but with all the letters in alphabetical order.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

Either front pockets, but make sure the keys and coins are not in there too. Usually screen in towards my body just in case I hit anything by accident.

iPhone on the right. Always. :apple:
It just feels so wrong to put it anywhere else..
Front left = Coins and Bus card
Back left = Keys
Back right = Wallet... (put in my bag or jacket now)
if I put my phone in the back pocket.. I'm afraid i might sit on it and smash it... (and fyi, I'm not even in the slightest heavy)

Phone and cigs in front right, lighter in a small pocket next it.

Wallet and keys go in front left.

Always this combo.

Front left pocket, nothing else goes in there. Keys are in the front right pocket, and wallet is in the back right pocket.

Only problem I've had is with my 3GS a year or so ago. I was walking with my girlfriend in the mall, she said something to distract me as I was putting my phone away, and I missed my pocket. It fell about 3 feet to the tile floor below, which caused the screen to shatter.

Still have the picture I took of it with her crappy flip phone:

This is why I don't use a case with my 4. Proof positive that it doesn't help :(

Front left pocket. It is the only thing in the pocket. Ever. Seriously, I get OCD about what is in which pocket.

Same here. Except I use the front right pocket for phone. Left front for keys, earphones, gum and right back pocket for wallet. Been this way for as long as I had a phone

Doesn't it feel uncomfortable sitting on your keys?

Eh, i'd say you need to get a better case. I use a speck case which has the hard outter shell with a rubber lining for a little shock absorbtion.

On multiple times i've dropped my 3gs from about 3+ feet because i missed my pocket and it usually lands on concrete or hardwood floors or tile and my screen is still in 1 piece. LOVE my case

As for the OP's question i keep phone in the front right, keys in front left, and wallet in back left. I've NEVER kept anything in back right. Every once in awhile i forget my phone is in my pocket and try putting my keys in my front right pocket and go "OH NO!!" and pull them out slowly and carefully lol

This. front left pocket is iphone. front right pocket is keys/wallet or just wallet and keys are in jacket.

never put anything else in left pocket = never have to worry about scratches.

4S in front left pocket screen facing towards leg. money clip & keys in front right. I don't carry coins unless I specifically need them for something.

I had only had my phone for a month. Had it in my front coat pocket. Get in the car and shut the car door. But the door wont shut. It bounced open! I tried to shut it again. it bounced open again. What the heck? Then I got a sinking feeling. Reached into my pocket and my phone was bent like a "V" Then I order a new one and fed ex calls my home. THE TRUCK CARRYING ALL THE NEW PHONES WAS HIJACKED!!!! It took weeks to get it all sorted out and get a new phone in my hands.
