15", wanted the power and graphics. Although if they did the same spec on a 13" model I might have gone for that.

15" because it provides a good size screen that is desktop replaceable.

I'm not saying that I wouldn't enjoy having a 20" LCD monitor for desktop use, but 15" is perfect to replace it for on the go and docking it.

17" is too big for me to be a portable - it's overkill.

taking a 15 or 17" on an international flight is terrible.

ever tried it? I took my 15" to Rome and back this fall and it was completely painless...

that said, I've only ever had the 15, but working on friends' 13s has always felt cramped. I don't know if I'd like the 17 better but I imagine it's just big enough to be a pain to carry around... very happy with the 15 though.

13-
Its perfect for taking with me on the go for church, music, and browsing.
When I'm at home I use it for GarageBand and Media presently without a monitor and the 13" is just fine. I have a !8" Display ready to use but adapter is still on its way so I think the 18" with be nice at home for a desktop but the 13" is perfect for me doing any task :)

I have had 3, 15" MacBook Pros and love them. They are perfect.

However, depending on what the next version of the MBP is... I may go to the 17".

If Apple can give me at least 1 higher resolution on the 15" (1680x1050) or (1600x900), then I will go for that. If not, the 17" (1900x1200) for the win.

IMO, you cant really go wrong with a 13" laptop. I don't really care about "future proofing" my purchase, i care about my purchase being exactly what i need it to be. I needed a computer that would have enough power to surf the web, send emails, store enough movies to keep me occupied at work,do light gaming, and download music when im home. My old windows laptop was a 15.4" and it was just too big for me. After having a 13" MBP, i don't ever really see me going any bigger.

15". 13" is too small and 17" is too large. :D

I don't carry mine with me everyday so its easy to justify the 15". It doesn't leave the couch much.

13" is a great size for me with my active lifestyle and meetings at mutiple buildings, I would get the air but i find it over priced and with no superdrive turns me away

You didn't get the 17"?! When the future gets here, you investment is going to be worthless!

The 17" although it being the BIG bro to bad boy was waaay too 'clunky' for my liking. Go to the Apple Store and test drive one yourself today and you'll see what I mean, most people do.

I'm thinking it sounds like you're a fan of your 15" MBP :)

What's the main reason you like it so much over the 13"?

Do you carry it 'everywhere' everyday in a backpack or messenger bag?

13" is for sure more portable, noticeably less clunky in a bag or on a desk ... true you do loose a certain amount of screen real estate.

To each their own....

I opted for 13" for a couple of reasons. I wanted the most portable option, but I also wanted something a little cheaper so I could put in an SSD. Plus, the 15" does not fit in the saddlebags on my bike. :D

I looked hard at the 13" and the 15". I decided on the 13" due to the portability of it. You lose the nicer speakers that the 15" has but I love my 13.

13 for a few reasons: Price- I'm a student, while I would love to be able to afford a 15 or 17, it wasnt realistic. Portability - lugging it to and from uni 4 days a week. I felt that the 13 was nicer IMO to hold and to type on, not sure why just feels nice to me.

i went to an apple store, tried all 3 sizes. i personally went with the 15". the 13" just seemed too small and the 17" is massive. after going back and forth between the 15" and the 17", i went with the 15", more so because its more portable than the 17". but i do love that 17" display......
