Series 0 SS Sports Band -> S4 SS LTE Sports Band. Will swallow the high cost since I'm going to use it for another 3-4 years.

Currently using a S0 42mm Space Grey Aluminium model. Will probably go the same in the S4, although if I can stretch the budget when the time comes I may look at the SS (AU$300 difference on the S3). I'm also considering the Silver over the Space Grey for something different.
Looking forward to the bigger screen, performance boost, and LTE.

Sold my S3 Hermès last week.

Will be getting a S4 Hermès or the gold stainless steel if they offer it.

Or even the ceramic or new edition.

Decisions!

I'll be going from SS S0 to Space Black SS. Thought about downgrading to the aluminium, but I had to work a few weekends over the last couple of months and got extra pay for that. So this is my little reward to myself for making it through that stressful time.

38mm SS LTE, don’t know about the band yet.

It’s going to replace a 38 SB Aluminium.

I’m stuck with 38mm because I have a tiny wrist and have bought a LOT of bands this size.

Dang. I was ready to go space gray again since I have had two already and have been happy. Reading how many of you are going stainless I just might change my mind. I have wanted stainless for a couple of years but just said no for the price difference. One thing I do know is I plan to order my iPhone first then order the watch so if all you're ordering is a watch you will have a leg up on me. It would be nice to have different order dates and on a weekend but not how it works.

I was telling myself exactly the same thing and regretted not putting the extra cost... I think if I had bought a SS the first time, I wouldn't be on the fence for the Series 4.
Yes the Series 4 release is an excuse to buy a SS watch LOL

I hadn't thought of which to order first. It's going to be an expensive month for us, since in addition to the watch my wife and I are both upgrading our phones. BUT, we'll be going through T-Mobile since we'll probably make use of their payment plans. So I'm thinking I'll order the watch first from Apple just because that will be the most straight forward, and I just trust Apple more to have their act together. Then I'll deal with T-Mobile and hope that all goes well, but if it doesn't and our phones are delayed a week or so I'm ok with that.

Thoughts on Space BB SS vs SS? I have an S0 Space Gray aluminum at the moment and pretty sure I'm going to upgrade to a steel for the S4.

Thoughts on the Space Black vs regular? Does the space black scratch/show wear easier? Does the SB SS match ok with brown bands?
Are they both comfortable to wear when working out/swimming?

I have only bought regular stainless steel and black stainless steel, listed are my thoughts below:

1.) The 316L Stainless steel- has a high shine, but it’s very soft dense metal that does scratch very easily, but it can be restored to remove any scratches or scuffs with a polishing cloth. But you want to make sure the polishing cloth does _not_ make contact with display, which can cause a reaction to the oleophobic coating. The band pairing with 316 L regular stainless watch is almost infinite, as everything looks good with it.

2.) The Black Stainless with the DLC coating- with the black stainless watch, includes a diamond like carbon coating that protects the casing, which is almost impervious to any type of damage at all, and my black stainless Apple Watch never even had a scratch on the casing at all due to that protective layer. If You are someone who is concerned about scratches or damage to the watch, I would highly recommend the black stainless Apple Watch, the only drawback is sometimes the band pairing can be more limited because of the black casing.

As far is the weight is concerned, it is significantly heavier over the aluminum Apple Watch, but I find that you will adjust to the weight rather quickly once you start wearing it.

Helpful, thank you!

I wouldn’t rely on Apple having adequate stock on their shelves for the Series 4 Apple Watch, especially with this being a redesign and multiple added new features, this is going to probably be more level of selling to maybe where the first generation Apple Watch was in April 2015. If you really want one, I really would consider pre-ordering online for your best option, unless you plan standing in line at an Apple store, which still isn’t a guarantee.
Nah, I reckon good stock all round

2015 was just games from Apple and a botched launch

Appreciate the depth feedback.

Already having a watch is my main reason to go phone first. The Series 4 will, for a bit at least, be a second watch. I do plan to pass my current watch on to my daughter but not right away so I have time to wait if needed.

If I were currently wearing stainless I would hold off as well. The extra cost is lost on resale, people will not pay the difference in the secondary market for stainless over aluminum.

I just traded in my Series 2 for store credit. If I decide to purchase another Apple Watch then it’ll be a S4 Alum Space Grey (if available).

I will be upgrading from my launch day S0 SS 42mm with Milanese band to hopefully an S4 42mm Alum silver.

If i can i would love to have a Stainless Steel Watch again, but in the last year here in the Netherlands only the Aluminum watches have been sold. Apparently none of the cellular providers support the integrated sim and thus the 4G watch. Having that said, i don't really would choose the 4G watch anyway, but i have a feeling their will be no non 4G SS versions. Hate to give up in the Saffier glass, but on the other hand my S0 was also replaced 2 times under apple care, so i think i will make sure to get Apple care again.

And and if Apple stuffs us with a higher price for the S4 alum then i will be thinking hard to get a discounted Series 3 alum watch as that is still a huge upgrade coming from S0.

I think the gold one will be the new edition model and that is the one I want, it looks good. However I don't know if I should sell my Series 3 Ceramic as I do love the white. Decisions decisions. Either way I will be getting the gold and will probably keep my series 3 as well.

Probably the black stainless steel for me but it really depends on what new models are announced at tomorrow’s keynote, the gold version that was included in the leaked image is a new model so maybe they will release more? I will probably also get a couple of new Watch bands, they are bound to announce new ones along side the Series 4 tomorrow :)
