If there is a gold stainless 42 MM, likely that will be my first option. Otherwise, regular stainless, but black stainless still holds its my appeal with me due to the DLC coating.
Dang. I was ready to go space gray again since I have had two already and have been happy. Reading how many of you are going stainless I just might change my mind. I have wanted stainless for a couple of years but just said no for the price difference. One thing I do know is I plan to order my iPhone first then order the watch so if all you're ordering is a watch you will have a leg up on me. It would be nice to have different order dates and on a weekend but not how it works.
I hadn't thought of which to order first. It's going to be an expensive month for us, since in addition to the watch my wife and I are both upgrading our phones. BUT, we'll be going through T-Mobile since we'll probably make use of their payment plans. So I'm thinking I'll order the watch first from Apple just because that will be the most straight forward, and I just trust Apple more to have their act together. Then I'll deal with T-Mobile and hope that all goes well, but if it doesn't and our phones are delayed a week or so I'm ok with that.Dang. Thoughts on Space BB SS vs SS? I have an S0 Space Gray aluminum at the moment and pretty sure I'm going to upgrade to a steel for the S4.
Thoughts on the Space Black vs regular? Does the space black scratch/show wear easier? Does the SB SS match ok with brown bands?
Are they both comfortable to wear when working out/swimming?
I have only bought regular stainless steel and black stainless steel, list my thoughts below:
1.) The 316L Stainless steel- has a high shine, but it’s very soft dense metal that does scratch very easily, but it can be restored to remove any scratches or scuffs with a polishing cloth. But you want to make sure the polishing cloth does _not_ make contact with display, which can cause a reaction to the oleophobic coating. The band pairing with 316 L regular stainless watch is almost infinite, as everything looks good with it.
2.) The Black Stainless with the DLC coating- with the black stainless watch, includes a diamond like carbon coating that protects the casing, which is almost impervious to any type of damage at all, and my black stainless Apple Watch never even had a scratch on the casing at all due to that protective layer. If You are someone who is concerned about scratches or damage to the watch, I would highly recommend the black stainless Apple Watch, the only drawback is sometimes the band pairing can be more limited because of the black casing.
As far is the weight is concerned, it is significantly heavier over the aluminum Apple Watch, but I find that you will adjust to the weight rather quickly once you start wearing it.
Nah, I reckon good stock all roundI wouldn’t rely on Apple having adequate stock on their shelves for the Series 4 Apple Watch, especially with this being a redesign and multiple added new features, this is going to probably be more level of selling to maybe where the first generation Apple Watch was in April 2015. If you really want one, I really would consider pre-ordering online for your best option, unless you plan standing in line at an Apple store, which still isn’t a guarantee.

Already having a watch is my main reason to go phone first. The Series 4 will, for a bit at least, be a second watch. I do plan to pass my current watch on to my daughter but not right away so I have time to wait if needed.I hadn't thought of which to order first. It's going to be an expensive month for us, since in addition to the watch my wife and I are both upgrading our phones. If I were currently wearing stainless I would hold off as well. The extra cost is lost on resale, people will not pay the difference in the secondary market for stainless over aluminum.I was telling myself exactly the same thing and regretted not putting the extra cost... I think if I had bought a SS the first time, I wouldn't be on the fence for the Series 4.
Yes the Series 4 release is an excuse to buy a SS watch LOL
