Which TV Series Are You Binging On?

Finished 1899 last night. What can I say... brilliant. It's a little more "Lynch" compared to Dark and there certainly are many WTF moments. Last three episodes speed things up, which may not be as satisfying as the the first half and the direction they go has the potential to screw up. But I doubt that will happen. They're known to plan things long term, in this case three seasons just the way they did with Dark. That being said, comparing only the first seasons of Dark and 1899, I think the former felt more satisfying, more complete. The ending of 1899 season 1 is a little more open and we didn't get the character depth that we've seen with Dark. That changed a bit at the ending and hopefully season 2 will show more of it and add more background to the characters. On the other hand, there's probably a good reason we didn't get more background on some characters, but I don't want to spoil things.

I can't recommend this enough.
 
I am currently following a few shows, Star Wars: Andor, Tulsa King and just finished with the wife The Crown S5.

The show had good potential, it was intriguing, but so much unbelievable stuff for people without sight, and the ones who have it are so badly written, they should own the community. I gave as much as I could a pass, but S3 just went off the rails with the amount of action and what you are to believe unsighted people could accomplish.

They should hurry up with this... I've yet to watch season 4 part 1, because I wanted to rewatch the series as a whole. I hope we won't have to wait until June or even worse June 2024... that would be overly dramatic.

Find another serie to waste your time on, and totally forget about the one you wait for. Then it will be fun surprise instead.
Never waste energy and invest absolutely nothing of your life in tv-series.
 
My wife at Netflix: The king, and Beauty Inside (both Korean shows).
At "viki.com": Reborn Rich, and Love Is For Suckers (Korean shows)

I too prefer Korean shows, and just a few Chinese ones. The Chinese are a long way behind the Koreans in relation to modern romance and other dramas, and have a great number of high-quality actors and actresses. The camera work is second to none, too. The Koreans produce nothing but top notch 16-episode shows. The Chinese produce very good shows of subjects relating to previous dynasties, war, and martial arts. Some are great too, but most are very long (36 to 80 episodes). The Chinese are also good at fantasy, but sometimes it is difficult to tell if the good guys dressing in white colors are any better than the "devils" who dress in dark colors, and often both good and bad guys end-up dead (I dislike unhappy endings in fantasy) :)

For some reason I don't enjoy the Hollywood and European shows where the old actors and actresses look kind of freakish with "duck lips" and all the political correctness.

.. into 'Shitt's Creek' again .. via the dvd complete collection ... it's been a long lapse between watching the first time, so being enjoyed almosr like a first time view.

Finished up The handmaids Tale S5. Was ok, lots of visual posturing, and coming to terms with emotional states. Not a complaint, just not sure where else the show has to go. I think that's it.

I've watched about 37 Korean "dramas" on Netflix, and yes, they are well done. Two of my favorites are Crash Landing on You, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo. And of course can't forget the infamous Squid Game.
 
I’m rewatching 24. Available on Disney. Finished season 6 last night. Forgot how long ago it was. Before iPhone’s etc. “send to my PDA” and moments later a fuzzy image appears on the screen. Great show though.
 
Just finished Andor, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Wednesday. All excellent.

Next series I'm looking forward to is Mandalorian season 3 in February.

Of all the big comedies that came out around that time (friends and Seinfeld) Frasier was my favorite. I’d even say it was a bit of an underrated show because of Friends/Seinfeld.

Yes, also Lawless Lawyer, and Vincenzo. One of the most interesting Korean shows relating to gaming and virtual reality is titled, Memories Of The Alhambra. The ending is somewhat of a slight cliff hanger, but otherwise it is an impressive show where the participants can't distinguish reality from virtual.

If you can "get over" the lips of the female lead, which by the way is a superb Korean actress, Netflix has aired 12 of 16 episodes of, Under The Queens Umbrella. There are some Korean shows for the "romanticos" (romantics), including:
One Spring Night
Beauty Inside (romance and fantasy)
The King (romance, inter-dimensional travel, intrigue)
Crash Landing On you
Back Street Rookie (young Korean actress with a perfect set of teeth :)
The K2 (includes martial arts, and such)
My Sassy Girl (romance, quite entertaining, too)
Live To Your Name (medics from the past and present, time travel, romance)
My Mister (one-sided love, maybe. A very poor young woman and a middle-age man develop a sense of "kinship." No, this show is not about an older guy having a romantic relationship with a poor girl, but about her struggles to survive, and how the colder guy helps her along the way. In case you don't know who the young female lead actress is: Lee Ji-eum (IU) a Korean singer. She is quite a good actress, and the lead actress at Hotel del Luna.


Some Chinese shows are quite good, but very long. For example at "viki:"
The Rebel Princes (intrigue and politics at the palace, war, and romance)
Love Between Fairy And Devil (this one is being aired at Netflix, but I watched at "viki" already)
Love Like The Galaxy (war, kingdom politics and struggles, romance). The female and male lead actors are in the 20's, but quite good at what they do.

By the way, since I dislike unhappy endings I only recommend these (above) and other "like" shows.

Midway through 1899, which has me hooked.

Just finished Andor, very good all the way through. And I'm enjoying Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. The ends aren't surprising twists, but the episodes are fun to watch and they build with a great sense of dread.
