Binged the whole of Bodyguard (the British series from 2018, not the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner movie) yesterday.

I mostly liked it. Although there were some things that irked me a bit like the climax where David Budd - the main character - wakes up in a bomb vest, and are allowed to parade through the city, to get home. That, and a few other minor things, put a dent in it for me... so, all in all, I might not give it more than 6.5 (even it it was a strong 7 for most of the series).

After all the years I eventually had to check it out as I've heard so much about it. So I watched all three episodes of season 1. Shockingly bad, among the worst I've ever seen. Really had to push myself to finish it. Then I abandoned it. Season 2 would have to be a million times better for me to even consider watching it.

New to me. Watched season 1 and it was ok. Too slow and too long but interesting idea. I didn't jump on S2 right away, but it's on my watch list.

Really enjoyed it. Not as good as some of the previous movies, but very enjoyable. I'm not sure why they had to make it a series, as it could have been a long movie instead.

Started off good, turned into boring nonsense.

Another first time marathon for me. S1 started very slow and I kept asking myself why it tries to copy Silicon Valley on a budget. S2 and S3 were great, S4 fell apart and was really boring. Cancelled after S4 which is not surprising, that last season killed it.

It's over... and that's the good part about it. S1 was as boring as it gets already, but I normally keep watching stuff and especially if it's Star Wars. Another 12 episodes of a boring space opera that isn't really Star Wars in its core. Could have been Downton Abbey in Space and it would have worked (or not) the same way. Somewhere in the middle, it felt like Blade Runner. Cancelled after S2, which I personally don't find surprising. At least I've seen it all now. Couldn't not have watched the five seasons they originally planned.

I recently thought about rewatching The Dropout and Super Pumped, because I really enjoyed those bio-pic series. Only recently heard about this, so I thought I'd give it a try. A little too slow and too long, but otherwise it was ok-ish to good.

Currently watching S4 of Family Law. Two episodes in, probably gonna finish tomorrow. Really like this series. Hoping for a S5 renewal. That being said, they should think about how they air/stream the series. It's a Canadian show which should be released in Canada (and maybe US/Europe) first. It will premiere next month in Europe and in July in NA. So I wonder how it can be available via streaming on Universal TV in South Africa which requires to jump through a VPN subscription to watch it. They need to change this.

Clarksons Farm season 4. Just as brilliant as always, Clarkson highlighting again how farming in the UK is being ruined by something I cannot mention here as it is not the right thread section.. And Harriet is a brilliant new addition injecting some real freshness to the show.

Watched the first couple of the new season yesterday, and so far it's just as good as ever.

Stopped by the Diddly Squat farm shop last Summer (on our way from Tewkesbury to Gatwick, on the final day of our Holiday), and it was just utter chaos. First almost an hour queueing in the car to get in to the car park, then there was an estimated 2 hour queue to get into the farm shop itself. We didn't have time for that, so luckily we found a small souvenir stand behind the store, to get some bee juice and a few other things, then took some pictures (some of the queues and some more tranquil of the adjacent fields), and then left. I think trying to visit on a Sunday in July was our biggest mistake.

Now, the next time we're in that area, I think I'll try to plan for a mid week visit, and - if possible - book ahead for a seat at The Farmer's Dog pub.

Yeah as he says in the show it is chaos with how many people visit them. Planning ahead is definitely the way to do it.

Finished Family Law S4 and it's great. I'm afraid that's it and we won't get another season. Looks like they wrapped everything up. And...
having Nathan Fillion walk in in the last scene, claiming he's another of Harry's children is something I can't see being resolved. It was a nice gag that made me laugh, as him and Jewel Staite were on Firefly (and Serenity) over 20 years ago.

I hope I'm wrong and we'll get another season.

Clarksons Farm season 4.
Completely forgot about it. But it'll be another two weeks before all episodes are out, so I'll wait.
Is season 3 out yet?
No, with some luck maybe late October or early November.

Season 3. Fantastic.

doctor-who-s2-teaser-key-art_the-doctor.jpeg

Season ... I don't know. Because they keep resetting the season count. 😡
Season 2 with the 15th Doctor (Disney), season 15 since 2005, season 41 since the beginning.

Show's been going down the hill since Tennant left, this is no exception. Two good episodes (The Well & Lucky Day), one ok-ish (The Reality War; really just the ending) and the rest was garbage. And yet another super sized CGI villain. Gotta admit, they had me for a second at the very end, but it's a trap. I'm pretty sure it will turn into a big mess.

I’m enjoying Long Way Home with Ewan McGregor. All of his motorcycle journeys have been really interesting!

I enjoyed Smith & Capaldi & Whittaker, took a rewatch to really get into them...

Main problem with most of the Whittaker run was the writing...?

Didn't really warm up to Gwata too much, seems like it was trying to appease too many different groups, but I won't go into all of that...

After the reveal we got at the very end of the latest episode (S02/15/41E08), I'm kinda excited to see what we get with Season 3 (or 16, or 42...?), but I don't want to give out any spoilers...! ;^p

Disagree about the show going downhill after Tennant, Matt Smith is my Doctor and Capaldi was also great. Whittaker was let down by poor writing IMO. I quite liked Gatwa and am sorry he is leaving - blurred in case anyone hasn't seen it - and really liked season 2 overall. Not sure though where they are going with the surprise ending - probably a misdirection otherwise yes it will be a mess.

Finished Last of Use Season 2, what a huge let down compared to the first season. I guess it was no real surprise considering how the 2nd game did and they followed those pretty closely. Generally despise the Ellie character without Joel... and even with Joel in this season. Joel became spineless and was just walked all over because of "love". First season really good, 2nd season worth skipping. The good things about season 2 were basically the sets, aka CGI. Looked really good and had a few tense moments throughout the season but again a complete waste of time.

You would find better produce at the M5 services at Gloucester (seriously).

We were there last Summer - as tourists - looking for an experience and souvenirs, not lunch or dinner... ;)

The same could be said if we stop by The Farmer's Dog for lunch - or maybe James May's The Royal Oak further South - the next time we have a rental car and go through that area, it would be as tourist first and foremost, and not as foodies. :)

It's not so much the Doctors / actors, but the poor storytelling. We had the best episodes with Eccleston and Tennant.

It's a misdirection.
Piper posted about it on her Instagram, Davies replied. Also, every new Doctor so far was introduced in the credits in the form of "and introducing <insert name here> as the Doctor". Credits of the last episode showed Gatwa as the Doctor, Whittaker as the Doctor and "Introducing Billie Piper". That's it, no "as the doctor". It's something else and I doubt she'll be back as a companion.

I just discovered MurderBot on Apple TV+. It’s actually really good. It’s listed as a comedy but I’m not really laughing out loud.

Just watching Monarch - Legacy of Monsters last night, and fully agreed with Murderbot's comments about the fatal stupidity of humans. I mean, going down into a pit full of glowing eggy things about to hatch. What the flim-flam did you think was going to happen?

I also felt like that when I was the senior Technician for a Marine Biology station on an island, and was supervising academics who wanted to go scuba diving without following any of the rules.

I have much sympathy for Murderbot, trying to stop humans coming up with more imaginative ways to kill themselves...

Is there a second season of Monarch...?
