I understand, and it's appreciated. Thanks Nano, you know me, always looking for a good deal! Want to make sure my friends on MacRumors get part of the action. I think the $299 deal is quite fair, about as cheap as you an find one on Ebay. I purchased a pair of SUA1500RM (rackmount versions) for about $350 on Ebay a year or so ago from Merisys, but they seem to have stopped selling on Ebay now.

I didn't see anything. Checking APC's site, I got the impression it's just a model number change, nothing on the actual product itself. So what is the difference between the SUA1500 and the DLA1500 (the one you've linked to)?
I understand, and it's appreciated.I share when possible, as a good deal hard to pass up. Usually due to a lack of funds at that particular time, unfortunately.

That is a bit pricey for S/H.Hmm, interesting. If it really is the same unit as the SUA1500, but just made for Dell as I've been reading, then I'll return this SUA750 and order the DLA1500
Edit: eww $64 shipping makes it less appetizing.
Not bad in the end.Yep. However I noticed that Tiger Direct doesn't charge sales tax for CA orders, and I was able to get 10% cashback by searching "tiger" at bing.com. Total ended up being $364 with shipping (then minus $31 for cashback) brings it down to $333. The SUA750 I bought in person at Fry's was $271 inc tax. So I dont feel too bad about paying $62 extra for double the capacity.
Cheers
Confirmation.Nano and company, yes there is no difference. In fact, the one I ordered came in the standard APC box, not an OEM box. The one they charge $412 for seems to come in an OEM box, mine is EXACTLY like the other 2 I have that were ordered from Provantage or APC directly. They all have the same boxes, and nothing noted about being OEM or Dell. They may have sold out on that run, but I am just sharing what I had. I also did not pay $60 for shipping to Michigan, I paid $30. Here is a copy off my invoice

i'm sure i read a post somewhere else on the forum where someone referred to how many power interruptions their APC Ups had dealt with in a month (something like 36) ...
how is that possible ?
should've been a bit clearer ,
i meant : how is it possible to display the number of power interruptions !
Leave it plugged in an "On". It won't kick in if there's no load (computer & other attached devices = OFF).hey ,
i've recently purchased the Smart Ups 1500va Usb & Serial 230v -
was just wondering if everyone leaves it powered on 24/7 ?
i power down everything in my studio at night , including the Ups , but obviously when i do that the battery kicks in .
so should i be leaving it powered on (ie plugged into the wall) so that the battery isn't having to switch on ?
also ,
i'm sure i read a post somewhere else on the forum where someone referred to how many power interruptions their APC Ups had dealt with in a month (something like 36) ...
how is that possible ?
would it be by using the 'Parachute' software ?
cheers
cheers ErikAndre,Loa and nanofrog .
that clarifies things nicely![]()
I use a pair of SUA1500s for my MP and peripherals. The batteries are hardly ever the sole source of power, but the units do a ton of work making sure that the voltage stays in the correct range.
When power does go out, I can keep working for a LONG time, which is really appreciated.
The powerchute business edition on pcs (and servers) lets you check all of the information and keeps a log, an event timer basically (I have it on my server and PCs, and can add a NIC to the smartups to do the same). The mac software is very basic, only shuts down and informs when the battery was on or off. I am hoping APC will create an agent for the MacOS, instead of the cheap powerchute personal edition.
Peace,
