Any whiskey drinkers here? What is your favorite?

I just poured myself a glass of Woodford Reserve -- good stuff!

-Chris

Scotch = Macallan 18 (or more)
Bourbon = Maker's Mark
Rye = Rittenhouse (amazing)
Irish = meh

I have no money. . . so I've found Jim Beam Black to be the best in the under $20 range. Their slogan should probably be, "A $30 whiskey for $18.99"

I can agree with all of those! I particularly like Macallan--tastes terrific to me!

And I also really like Johnnie Walker Gold, though I think it's too darn expensive for what it is.

I hate Whiskey :(

Can't stand Jack->Makers->Crown->Your Best Bottle-> it all burns me.

sad statement from a alcoholic, but it is the last booze I choose.

I recently enjoyed a bottle of Walker Gold...wow! it was good! However, it is pricy. I'd like to try the blue label, but $150 a bottle?!! Is there anything as good as gold label for cheaper?

Definitely a bourbon nut myself...

1. Blantons
2. Basil Haydens
3. Woodford Reserve
4. Van Winkels 18 (Rye)
4. Makers Mark
5. Knob Creek

Tonight.... Bookers

If you are desperate you could use a britter water filter on any cheap bottle of alcohol. Any water filter work fine.

I've had Blue a couple of times at JW tastings, and at a friend's house. It's very good, but I prefer the Gold--it is smoother and richer to me. The Blue is a little bit edgier, if that makes sense. It is probably the more "interesting" of the two, but with Gold I can just kick back, relax, and enjoy.

Where on earth are you getting Blue Label for $150? The cheapest place I've seen it around here is at the state-run liquor store, where it's around $245.

My girlfriend got me a bottle of Green Label last Christmas. Quite yummy.

Jack Daniels? Ew. Gross.

Single Malts only please. I like the highland scotches at the moment.

I'm not a fan of Whiskey. But Single Malt Whisky is great.
Favourites Distilleries:

Balvenie
Jura
Oban
Speyburn
Dalwhinnie

Whisky without an e if it's Scotch ;)

I like the Islay malts and smokey tastes. I've had some good lowland malts in the past too. ;)

:eek:
I can't get on with Islays. I have a bottle of Bowmore that I just can't drink.
I prefer Speyside and Highlands myself.

Talisker from the Isle of Skye.

Beautiful.

If not that, then I'll drink some Laphroaig. But strangely enough, out of the whisky's you'll usually find in a pub (Bell's, Teachers, JD) I'd usually go for yer bog-standard JD.
